Book Review: Colorful Creations x Two!
Colorful Creations Butterfly Mandalas: Coloring Book Pages Designed to Inspire Creativity!
And
Colorful Creations Positively Inspired Coloring Book: Coloring Book Pages Designed to Inspire Creativity!
I received these two coloring books by Jess Volinski in consideration of a review. This does not affect my opinion of them in the least. But, I just have to tell you, they are awesome! I can’t help but smile as I am coloring the wonderful images contained in these adult coloring books.
Each coloring book is inspiring and beautiful. Who doesn’t love butterflies and flowers? :)
There is a brief lesson about the color wheel and combining various colors to express certain emotions. We are also supplied with palette suggestions, that we can take or leave, for coloring some of the images. There is space available for the fun adventure of creating your own color palettes, too.
Grab your own copy of these coloring books today. You won’t be sorry that you did!

A to Z April Challenge: F is for Flowers
One of my passions is nature photography. I'm not particularly good at photography, thanks to shaky hands and blurry vision, but I still enjoy it. I love nature photography, most especially flower photography. When a little critter happens along with the flowers, well, that is even better! This part of Texas has a lot of both this time of year.
Here are some of my recent flower photographs:

What Kind of Tree is This?
This pretty tree is growing in the circle median that sits in the middle of our neighborhood. I have been trying to identify what type it is, but so many of the white flowering trees look alike to me! I saw the first blooms on this tree a week or so ago. We live on the Texas Gulf Coast where all sorts of pretty things are finally starting to bloom!
Is it a cherry tree of some type?
Or maybe a tea crabapple?
Or, is it something else completely?
If you know what type of tree this is, please let me know. Thanks!

Problem Responding to Comments
Due to some page loading issues that I have been having (that seems to have corrected itself this evening!), I have been wayyyyyyyy behind on responding to comments. I think that I am caught up now. Please accept my apologies for taking so long to respond to all of you. Thank you so much for your continued support and comments!
I am so excited that spring is finally showing itself around here! This is what I found in our side yard this morning. :)
What signs of spring are showing up in your neck of the woods?
PS! Do you prefer this font size or the normal font size? Which is easier for you to read?

A Beautiful Day!
Today was a beautiful day, in many ways. The temperature was a little on the cool side, which was perfect, and the sun was shining brightly - at times TOO brightly! We went on a bluebonnet hunt.
We started off in Sugar Land because David had an appointment with his podiatrist. The amputation site is healed and the other foot is looking better, but still has a while before it is healed. Thanks for the prayers.
Anyway, we left Sugar Land via SH 6, headed for I-10 West. Just outside of Columbus, we saw the first patch of bluebonnets. They were mixed with some other wildflowers, one of them being Indian Paintbrush, but I don't know the name of the yellow flowers.

We drove into Columbus and headed for La Grange. I'm going to have to drive into some pretty big mountains in May, so I figured that I needed to practice now on something higher than what I'm used to here in town, but lower than where we'll be going. On our way to La Grange, along SH 71, we found another patch of bluebonnets, this time in front of a really pretty house. The angle was all wrong for getting the house AND the flowers in the picture, but that's OK. It was here that I got my favorite shot of the day.

Mellow Yellow Monday: Fine Art Center Garden

I have been looking for more challenges to participate in, both in writing and in photography. I came across one called "Mellow Yellow Monday", a photographic challenge. The photo is to have a little or a lot of yellow. I guess my shot today is somewhere in between. :)
This was taken at the front walkway of the Fine Arts Center at our local college. I think these flowers are snapdragons, but I'm not positive about that.
Please be sure to visit Mellow Yellow Monday and participate in their linky!
