Press Release: God and Donald Trump by Stephen E. Strang

With New Optimism, Christians Are Waking Up

Stephen E. Strang Says in New Book, ‘God and Donald Trump,’ That Christians Voted for Trump to Slow Down America’s Downward Spiral

ORLANDO, Fla.—Over the past several months, Christian voters have had much to celebrate. From strides in religious liberties protections to bills defending the unborn, some of President Donald Trump’s promised agenda is being realized. And the optimism of those who put him in office is palpable.

Award-winning journalist and author Stephen E. Strang says that feeling is reminiscent of election night in November 2016, when Christians sensed the nation had turned a corner—given a window of opportunity and a reprieve from God with Trump’s election.

In Strang’s new book, “God and Donald Trump,” set for release on Nov. 7, nearly one year to the day after the historic election, the author recounts some of those election night scenes and Christians’ hope for the future. God and Donald Trump also reveals the strategies, behind-the-scenes activity and profound voices that helped shape the dramatic events of the election and presidency thus far.

“I believe that Christians are waking up,” Strang said. “The evidence we’ve seen tells me that there is a new optimism and a new spirit rising all across the land. Many Christians believed they had to vote for Donald Trump or the downward spiral of the past eight years would continue. There is no doubt things would have gotten worse under Hillary Clinton’s administration. Even though our own culture and all of Western Civilization remains in a downward spiral, there is hope. Two years ago, I would have never suspected that God would raise up a brash billionaire from Queens, New York, to undertake the transformation of America, not only politically but also spiritually. I expected to vote for Ted Cruz in November, but when he left the race, I had to reconsider my options. Now, I have a better understanding of why that reorientation was necessary.

“Could it be that this intersection of God and Donald Trump, or the simultaneous shifts in the United States of America and the kingdom of God, are much more than a random anomaly of coincidental occurrences?” Strang continued. “Is it possible that Donald Trump was raised up suddenly out of the obscurity of the business and entertainment environment with what Frank Amedia called a ‘breaker anointing’ that was activated to make a way for our nation to return to God? Is it the Creator’s plan that the diverse factions of the Christian church be united in a way to take back our country for God?”

A website and video for “God and Donald Trump,” which contains a foreword from presidential hopeful and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, may be found at www.GodandDonaldTrump.com; view the video here. Visitors to the site can also download a free chapter and pre-order the book.

Strang is an award-winning journalist and successful businessman who began his career as a newspaper reporter at the Orlando Sentinel before founding a Christian publishing house and media company while interviewing and writing about nearly every Christian leader in the country over the past four decades.

God and Donald Trump is published by Frontline, an imprint of Charisma House, which has published books that challenge, encourage, teach and equip Christians, including 13 New York Times bestsellers.

Book Review: Bankrupt to Six Figures by Snowe Saxman

Bankrupt to Six Figures
By
Snowe Saxman

We were sent a copy of this book free so that we might review it for our readers. It is our policy to “Call ’em like we see ’em”.  This means that, no matter how we get a product to review, we will give our honest opinion.
Previously, we had been contacted by Mrs. Saxman’s publicist and asked to promote a webinar she was giving.  We found that she had a book available and offered to review it.  Many of our readers asked us, “How did she become bankrupt?”
That question is answered in this very short (only 70 pages) book.  This is not a how-to guide about how to go from being bankrupt to having a six-figure income.  She does give a little insight to that though.
The author tells her readers about her journey from having it all to hitting rock bottom and learning how to climb back to the top.  She tells us a little about the journey and more about the mindset that God gave her along the way.
This book is slanted towards the Christian point of view and she gives us a  little glance at learning how to rely on God.  The author emphasizes God First.
One thing that struck us is that along the way she has not learned to be humble.  She implies at least twice that she thinks that she is prettier and more talented than most women.
Upon glancing through the other reviews listed on Amazon, we found that there are 15 reviews and all of them are five stars.  We are sure that these reviewers felt like the book warranted that high of a review.  Unfortunately, we do not share the same opinion.  The most we can honestly give the book is three stars.
The reader will probably prefer the Kindle version Bankrupt to Six Figures. The value for the money in the Kindle version is about right.  The reader may feel like they did not receive their money’s worth if they purchase the more expensive paperback.

BOOK EXCERPT

Boss Truth #20
USE YOUR TALENTS
OR LOSE THEM

“For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.” (Matthew 25:29)

The Parable of the Talents is a story about the use and underuse of gifts and talents. The parable tells us the talents were distributed “to each according to his own ability.” We all don’t have the same abilities, but each one of us has our own, and each one of us has responsibility to use the abilities we have been given. The story begins with a man who was given five talents – he worked with what he had, used them all, and gained five more. Likewise, the man with only two talents, worked with the little he had and gained two more talents. Lastly there was the man given one talent, who did absolutely nothing with it. The servant’s master was upset with the one-talent man, not because he didn’t develop as many talents as the others, but because he had done nothing with what he was given.

I believe you have amazing gifts inside you, but some are afraid to explore and add to them because of the fear of failure. Some people compare themselves to others who are multi-talented, and are convinced they can never be like them. The truth is, the Lord will never expect you to do more than what you are able–only to do the best with what He has given you. Don’t worry about others around you–focus on yourself. If you have that one thing going for you, work it like nobody’s business.

Announcing: Shards - A Book of Poetry

Many of you know that back in December, I was diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes.  David is worrying himself to a frazzle about how to raise the money to get the surgery that I need. Ordinarily, I do not feel that it is proper for me to be asking for the money, but I cannot put all of this on him when there are things that I can do, too.

I have put together a collection of poems that I wrote during 2016 along with a few of my older poems. Each poem is accompanied by an image. Some of the images are my own; many are from Pixabay.

The title of this collection of poems is Shards. This title represents that parts of my life have fallen apart. However, I do not intend for it to stay in pieces. With Heavenly Father’s help and a bit of brat-itude, I plan to pull it all back together.

I am offering this book of poetry (in PDF format) for whatever donation you see fit to give. All proceeds generated from this book will go into the cataract surgery fund.

If you would like to make a donation and receive this book of poetry, please send your donation to this PayPal address: celticmama36@gmail.com    Please select “gift” for the payment type.  In the notes section, please also include the e-mail address to which you would like for me to send the PDF.  It should arrive to your inbox in 24-48 hours.

Thank you and have a blessed week!

Book Review: A World of Babies

A World of Babies is unlike most other books we have ever read.  We believe it is probably meant to be a supplemental text for an anthropology course.  However, it is an interesting read just by itself.

The idea is that the book contains different case studies that are reported via fictional childcare manuals.

We found most of these to be very interesting and informative.  The book goes into a great deal of detail in some cases and the stories that are told are very believable and fun. However, it appeared to us that the last manual had an agenda the author was attempting to communicate to the reader.

Each section starts out with a little background information regarding the region and some of its history.  Then, sometimes we are given a fictitious biography of the alleged manual writer.  Finally the writer, or in some cases writers, of the manual will write as if giving childcare advice.

We can see that those wishing to learn more about cultures in other areas of the world will find this book very helpful.  With the exception of the last section, the book appears to be written in a very neutral tone recording everyday life in the area.

If you wish to learn more about different cultures, some you may have never heard of, A World of Babies is a good source of information.
