Here are the fill-ins:

1. My favorite fictional character is ______________________.
2. A new tv show or film I am looking forward to this Fall is ____________________.
3. One of my very favorite books is _______________________.
4. The best time to ______________is _______________________.

Here are my responses:

Scarlett O’Hara is probably my favorite fictional character, or at least one of the top ones. While I don’t particularly care for her more negative characteristics, I am inspired by her fortitude, determination, and never give up spirit. No matter what came her way, she found a way to fight her way through it. Her statement, “After all, tomorrow is another day” shows a person full of hope, one that planned for her future, and she was going to go for it. I’d love to be like that!

I am not looking forward to any TV show or film for the Fall. I don’t watch TV anymore or go to movies.  I’d rather read, or write, or watch the life going on in our backyard.

One of my favorite books in my Bible. It is a constant reminder that I am not alone. Also, my Bible contains a special memory for me that makes me smile every time I see it. See, way back when I was learning to do calligraphy, there were some numbers that I could write better than others. I was thinking about that while I was filling in our wedding date in the Bible.  I wrote 1985, when in reality, we were married in 1984. I ended up fixing it, but the place where I made the mistake is still quite obvious. I can’t help but smile when I see it.

The best time to be up for me is during the night. I am a night owl, as is David. We are more productive at night than during the day. It has always been that way, though we’ve been forced most of our lives to conform to the whole diurnal lifestyle.

Have a blessed weekend, y’all!

  1. Scarlet did have her moments. When the chips were down, she was able to rally her strength. Nighttime is best for us. As long as we have 24 hour stores, were are good. I love you, my Zing!

    1. Very true. Unfortunately, the bit 24-hour store is underwater right now. It would be nice if HEB could get deliveries and be open to take up the slack from the other store. But, it is probably still not safe for folks to be out driving at night.

I love you, too, my Zing. :)

  2. Thank you for participating, great answers. The Bible is a wonderful book , excellent choice. I have never seen Gone with the Wind or read the book, I really should.

    1. Thank you, Ellen, for hosting the fill-ins (and Annie, too). I've never read the Gone with the Wind book, but David has. He says it is a lot different than the movie. There is a lot more to the book and they are more specific about some things than the movie is.

      Have a blessed weekend. :)

  3. Scarlet was an amazing character study. No way i'd want to go toe to toe with her.

There's so much in The Bible that i know i'll never get to the end of it, that's one reason i never tire of it.

Enjoy your night owl status, this morning lark will get up and make the coffee, you make sure the doors are locked when i'm too tired at night!

    1. Scarlet's one tough cookie, that's for sure.

The devotional that I'm working through right now should have me all through the Bible in a year, but it contains so much that I know, in reality, it will take many times through it to learn all the lessons it holds.

I'm still up in the mornings, too. haha I have to stay up so that I can smell the coffee. I don't drink it, but I love to smell it. You can count on me making sure the doors are locked. I don't like unlocked exterior doors, especially not around here. :)

      Have a blessed weekend!
