4. What were your hobbies as you were growing up?
I loved to read, ride my bike, and design houses. Designing houses was, for the longest time, my way of coping with extremely stressful situations. The higher the stress level, the more ornate the house was. I also enjoyed crocheting. My Aunt Vi taught me how to crochet. She had been married to my Uncle Jerry, one of my mama’s brothers. They didn’t stay married to each other, but she will always be my aunt. Crochet was all the rage in my middle school, especially making granny squares.

Good Aunt Vi, what a character!
ReplyDeleteThat she was...forever a kid at heart. :)
DeleteI rode bike most everywhere too. However, I didn't have my own bike so I borrowed one from someone on our block. I didn't get my own bike until my 40th birthday.

I'm glad that you were able to finally get one. I had my own bike, but they were forever too tall for me because I'm not a tall person. I remember nearly killing myself in a church parking lot trying to ride my older cousin's ten-speed bike. It scared me to death then, but I can't help but laugh about it now that I'm safely off of it. :)
DeleteThanks for sharing your link. Have a blessed day!
You are lucky you learned to crochet when you were so young.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I think so, too. I was very blessed to have an aunt that took the time to teach me. She was a kid at heart as long as I knew her. Maybe one of these days I'll get brave enough to make video tutorials for learning to crochet. Just the thought of that makes my heart get all shaky, though.
DeleteHave a blessed weekend. :)
