Important Notice!!! We are currently dealing with a serious health crisis involving David. Computer time and blogging will be taking a backseat until we can get this situation under control and, hopefully, save his leg. Please bear with us as we go through this difficult time. Thank you for any prayers that you can offer up.

Also, if you'd love to help cheer him up, please subscribe to his YouTube channel. That would really make his day! The link is at the bottom of all of my posts.

Thank you and Merry Christmas to all of you!

Friendly Fill-ins 29 July 2016

This weeks statements are:

1. One quirk I have is ___________________.
2. My favorite comic strip is ________________________.
3. I am really happy__________________________________.
4. If I could go anywhere on a road trip, I would go to__________________.

My answers are:

One quirk I have is that I like for things to be even and front-faced. I used to be a merchandiser and can't stand to see items on retail shelves all whompy. I like all the labels forward and everything straight on the shelf, not some things forwards and some things backwards, or near the edge and others way back at the back. Walmart really irks my Monk side!

My favorite comic strip is….whatever comic strip David is reading to me at the time. I don't really have a specific favorite anymore. I think the Pluggers comics that he reads to me are very relevant to our situation/condition these days.

I am really happy when I make new discoveries on our family trees, like I did recently on David's side of the family. His mama and daddy share a set of 6th great-grandparents in the Morgan line of the family tree. I made a post about that here: Morgan Connections.

I am also really happy when a picture that I take comes out great. It doesn't happen too often anymore, but I am very happy when it does. Sometimes I am even happy with the photos that are technically mistakes. A spring photo of lantana in our backyard was technically overexposed, but I think it makes a great abstract art piece. We had it put onto a canvas. Here it is:

If I could go anywhere on a road trip, I would go to South Carolina. In addition to being able to visit graves that have been filled since we left South Carolina in 2004, I would visit those that I didn't know about before we left, too. I've found the location of more of them since we left South Carolina than I did while we were IN South Carolina! But, even more importantly, I would want to go visit David's Aunt Gloria. She is the last surviving member of David's daddy's birth family and she has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. I would love to be able to visit with her and let her know how much she is loved. I don't think that she realizes just how much. Please keep her in your prayers.

    1. Thank you, Ellen (and Annie!) for hosting the fill-ins. David and I enjoy them very much.
      Monk was the best. :)
Family history is something that I have enjoyed since I was a girl. I started seriously researching probably around the time I was 14 years old. Our babies were practically raised in libraries and cemeteries as I continued my research. :) Now. most of it is done online.
I hope that you have a great weekend, too. :)

  2. I have the same quirk you do - in fact, I'll make sure the shelf I take something off of is fixed before I move on to the next item. ;)

Love that photo! I love it when 'mistakes' turn out like that - you can just say you did that on purpose. ;)

I hope you get to SC! I'll definitely keep Aunt Gloria in my thoughts and prayers.

    1. Don't you just hate it when you get to a bent can and it won't sit right for anything? It just messes up the whole works. :)

Thank you! I was very happy with how the lantana photo turned out.

Thank you so much for the prayers for Aunt Gloria. She really needs them.

      Have a great weekend!

  3. I am so sorry that I am late, but it is important that I visit. Life has been a little stressful lately. I love your fill-ins and I do read your posts, even when I can’t comment; sometimes it is hard from my smart phone. Thank you for being a part of Friendly Fill-Ins.
I think that we would be great friends if we lived near each other. I really like your style, Suzanne. *wink* Hugs!

    1. Thank you, Annie. You don't have to apologize. I know there's real life out there and we all have things to take care of. No worries. I know you'll visit here whenever you can. :)

I think we would be great friends, too. I have a style? Cool. Thanks. I like yours, too. :)

      Have a great week!
