This word is a happy word. It looks so much like "giggle" that it made me giggle when I first saw it.
Each year on March 17, St. Patrick's Day, this issue comes up, this uncontrollable urge to pinch someone that isn't obviously wearing green. It is a tradition that is meant to be fun in our family, although I hear there are some folks that get very aggressive with it.
Chubby little baby cheeks are hard to resist, but those are meant for gentle squeezing, not anything at all painful.
When it has been a long time since I've seen a loved one or I have to leave them knowing it will be a long time before I see them again, I can't resist squeezing them tightly in a hug. But sometimes I don't know my own strength, so I have to be careful so that I don't hurt them.
