Mix It Monthly Challenge: Odd Headgear

Mix It Monthly

Between freaky lighting around here these days and anemia-induced visions, I had no trouble coming up with the image for this month's Mix It Monthly challenge. The subject for the month of January is: odd headgear.

A little bit of light shines through our room at night and shines under my desk. I can see the desk from where I sleep and can see this Jokerman peeking back at me quite clearly. I know that it is just a play of lights and shadows and not really a face under my desk, but this is what my mind turns those lights and shadows into. This is one of the funnier tricks of the eyes.

The flap of the hat is my 'nod' to the games that I grew up with: solitaire, rummy, and various other card games. Now, David and I enjoy playing card games together. We play a version of Crazy Eights that we call Dr. Pepper as well as a version of Rummy that we call Bobalated.

    1. Thank you. I had a lot of fun making it. I cannot usually do a good job of recreating the faces that I see, but this one is extremely close.

    1. Thanks. I'm glad that I'm not the only one. I see faces all over the place. I just wish that I could paint them all.

I agree. It must be our creative minds at play, looking for inspiration everywhere. :)

    1. Thanks. :) I like to have fun with my artwork, too. It is easier with images than with my poetry to be funny. My poems are usually sad and my artwork is usually somewhat silly. :)

    1. Thank you, Conny. I am glad that you enjoyed my funny little man and appreciate the chance to create him for your challenge. I am sorry that I missed the owl challenge. I may do one anyway. Owls are so cute. :)

Do you always paint the faces that you see everywhere? Have you seen any that you just couldn't recreate no matter how hard you tried?
