Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Did you watch the solar eclipse? Your thoughts? Sun Chips, Moon Pies, Starburst candies, a Blue Moon beer, a Sunkist orange, or a Milky Way candy bar...what's your favorite eclipse related snack on this list?

No, I didn’t watch the eclipse. I saw pictures of it online. I am already going blind and decided not to rush the process because I know I would be tempted to look at the sun directly.

Of those named, I like Moon Pies and Milky Way candy bars.

2. What are you 'over the moon' about these days? What's something you enjoy doing every 'once in a blue moon'?

I don’t know about being over the moon on anything, but I have been very happy to find photos online of my mother-in-law’s ancestors, one of them being her grandmother’s grandmother.

Once in a blue moon, I enjoy going for a ride in the country. But, it is too hot to do that right now with the A/C being broken in our Zoomie.

3. Tell us about something in the realm of science that interests you. How do you feed that interest?

Fractals are something that interest me a great deal, though I haven’t spent any amount of time reading about them lately.  Who knew that anything involving math could be so beautiful?

4. What are a few things you remember about going back to school as a child?

I remember we always started off the new school year with a brand new wardrobe. In elementary school, my mama always bought me the cutest little dresses. The new clothes and the chance to learn new things was all I liked about going to school.

5. I've seen several versions of this around the net so let's make one of our own...share with us five words that touch your soul and briefly tell us why.

"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Hebrews 13:5 KJV

No matter what, He is here for me.  No matter how alone I may feel, I am never alone because He will never leave me.

6.  Insert your own random thought here.

“Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth.” Unknown

  1. Suz, your random thought is spot on. You are more valuable than pearls, more valuable than rubies. I love you. Zing! Zing!

    1. There sure are! I tend to lean towards the natural sciences (animals, plants), but I absolutely love fractals (even though I detest math!).

      Have a blessed day. :)

  3. Love your choice of five words--I hadn't thought of using a phrase!

    1. Thank you. I figured it was supposed to be a list, but wasn't sure, and that phrase kept coming into my head. I figured He put it there for a reason, so that is what I used. :)

      Have a blessed day.

  4. Great answers today! I loved your random thought and your five words and guess I will have to read up on fractals. That is beautiful!

    1. Thank you, on all counts. :) One of my favorites of the fractals that I've done looks like a heart, but I couldn't find that image file for the post. There are several free programs out there for creating them. Apophysis and Chaos are two that I remember. They were free when I got them, anyway. The only downside that I've found is it takes forever to render a file.

      Have a blessed day. :)

  5. That was a great idea to use a five-word phrase! I liked both the Bible verse as well as the quote. Both are comforting and encouraging.

    1. Thank you. I am glad that they were encouraging to you. Worth is something that I struggle with and I knew when I saw that quote I had to share it. Hopefully it will help someone else out there who is struggling to feel like they matter.

      Have a blessed day. :)

    1. Thanks! I learned about them a few years back and went right off to find one of the free programs so that I could play around with them. I enjoyed every minute of it. :)

      Have a blessed weekend.

  7. I don't even know what fractals are! New clothes for school seems to be the popular answer. Enjoy your weekend.

    1. I don't know how to explain what fractals are, either, but it has to do with numbers and repeating patterns. All I know is they turn out really pretty. I've seen some that are absolutely breathtaking.

Thank you and have a blessed week, Debby. :)
