2017 September Challenge: Back Where I Come From – Day 23

23. Are you ever homesick for your hometown?

YES! I think about back home very often and wish that we had never left. But, we did and now we play the hand we’re dealt.

That being said, it just wouldn’t work for us to move back. So many things have changed back there and within us. We are where we are meant to be at this point in our lives.  Now, to bloom where we are planted, in spite of floods and droughts - of all kinds.

  1. I like that "bloom where we are planted." Good words to remember. The photo is beautiful!

    1. Thank you, Trudy, on all counts. :) That rose is my precious Belinda's Dream that I lost to the drought several years ago.

      Have a blessed day!

  2. I understand that homesickness but also that knowledge that you can't go back because of life circumstances. We try and go home to Australia every couple of years to see my mom and it's really weird how when you're away you think nothing will have changed, and then when you visit there are loads of things that are different.
    Have a great day.

    1. I am glad that you are able to go to Australia to visit with your mama. I am pretty sure that I would get lost if I ever went back home to Anderson. I read the hometown newspaper online and know that quite a bit has changed. New buildings have been built and old ones have been destroyed...nothing is the same anymore. The hardest part for me would be the people that are no longer there.

      Have a blessed day!
