An Update on my Vision

Mega-dilated Suz Eye, 30 March 2017

As most of you know, I had a surgical consultation with an ophthalmologist this morning in Houston.  This doctor, Dr. Dhir (pronounced "Dear), was a very nice man and didn't laugh at me for being scared.

He said that my cataracts are not “ripe” yet.  I have a follow-up appointment in October that will help them to decide how quickly the cataracts are progressing for me.

So, no surgery is scheduled yet. I can stop holding my breath!

Thank you to all of you who have sent up prayers or have donated to help cover the expenses involved with these vision difficulties and the eventual surgery.

David and Suz, 30 March 2017, Houston, TX. Split Tone Filter.

  1. That is good news, however if your vision has been affected by them then it is a long wait. Are you happy with this news?

    1. Yes, I am happy that am able to put it off, for at least a while. Who knows, maybe Heavenly Father will completely heal my eyes during this wait time. That is what I am hoping.

My vision is being affected by them and my eyes have frequent dull aches, but I just need to be better about giving them a break from the glare of the sun and the computer screen and remember to wear my special glasses when using the computer and going outside. I don't always remember to wear them. They shield 100% UV rays and apparently UV rays are a big cause of cataracts.

The biggest concern for me (aside from the scariness of eye surgery) is whether or not I will pass the test to renew my driver's license in August. Dr. Dhir said that, yes, my vision is good enough to pass that test. He said they may hassle me due to my left eye being blind (it has been since childhood), but that my right eye is good enough to meet their requirements at this point.

Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement! It isn't over by a long shot, but this reprieve is very much welcomed by me. :)

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Have a blessed weekend!
