Currently…A Life List

Paula over at Smidgens, Snippets & Bits made a great post yesterday and has graciously allowed me to play along with her. Please click the image below to check out her post. Thanks!

Looking out my window...I can't see anything out my window at the moment, but during the daytime I can see what I believe to be a sycamore tree.

As I ponder...all the hopes and dreams and plans that we had even just a year ago, I wonder how to go about accepting that those things will not be happening. Health situations for both of us have had significant changes, making those dreams just that, dreams.

What I'm learning...is that no matter what I try to do or how important it is that I do it, there are going to be distractions that throw me off course.

What I'm creating...I am knitting a purple hat. I am not making very much progress on it. Maybe someday I will actually finish it.

What I'm reading...I am reading Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst. I was asked to read and review it. There are so many things in this book that I can relate to.

What I'm watching...everyone in the house, including the dog, sleep.

What's on my camera...There are pictures of flowers, the healed ulcer on David's foot, waiting rooms we were in today, a Skype session with our Marine, kitties, our grand-dogger Petra, Santa Claus from the original Miracle on 34th Street, my 'I Voted' sticker, the election results, pics of the cake at the Marine Corps ball, a dead butterfly, a door, the Ruins, and fallen leaves. I think that's about it.

What's happening in the kitchen...

Monday - Sandwiches
Tuesday - Nothing because we'll be on the road to the Island.
Wednesday - Pre-Thanksgiving, Part II
Thursday - Thanksgiving!  Turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, mac &    cheese, mashed potatoes and  gravy, ham, green bean casserole, squash casserole, cheesecake, pecan pie, and yeast rolls.
Friday - Leftovers
Saturday - Probably leftovers, if there are any.
Sunday - Not sure, because I think we take our baby girl back to the Island on Sunday.

A quote I want to share...

Happenings in my backyard...One of the big trees split in half and has about a quarter of the backyard covered in debris. I need to figure out how to get it to the road for the bulk trash folks to get.

A peek into my week...This week is a very busy one with doctor appointments, traveling to pick up our youngest daughter, and getting the Thanksgiving meal prepared and eaten, then taking our baby girl back to the Island on the weekend.

A final thought...why do I wake up just as tired, or even more tired, than when I went to bed?,

  1. I am so happy to visit your Currently!! YaY! I know exactly what you mean when you ponder your dreams. What we once thought would be reality is now just our dreams. I am happy to at least be able to dream! We all have distractions, don't we? Sometimes the distractions take over. I'm happy to use my Life Lists to try to bring me back to focus. Would love to see some of those pictures on your camera. Sound fascinating!! You are going to have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! See you Monday!!

    1. Thank you, Paula! I am very happy for you to visit here and appreciate it very much. :)

Definitely a yes on the distractions! I am really good at hopping on the bunny trail onto something else when I should be doing this or that. Sometimes it gets very funny, especially here on the computer. I'll look up and have about a hundred tabs open at one.

I will see about making a collage of the photos to add to this post once I get them all uploaded. I'll let you know when I add it.

Oh yes, it will be a wonderful Thanksgiving. :) The only thing that would make it absolutely perfect is if our Marine could be here, but he can't. I hope that yours is a wonderful Thanksgiving, too!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Have a blessed day!
