Over the last two weeks, we have put a great deal of mileage on the car and ourselves getting our two daughters moved in and out of dormitories at universities over 200 miles apart and in opposite directions from our home. That was about 1200 miles worth of driving, with two round trips for one daughter and five for the other one.
Here are a couple of flower photos taken between here and Corpus Christi, Texas.
These flowers were along the side of the road in an area near the town of Lolita, Texas. I don't know what they are, but thought they were very interesting.
It seems that every time we go to Corpus Christi, the sky is dreary and overcast. We have yet to make a trip down there to have the sunshine greet us. Maybe next time!

Wow! Shame you couldn't just hire movers to take your daughters to school! I'm exhausted just reading about it! I have seen purple flowers that looked like that before, but don't know what they are called.

I mostly enjoy the drives, but I do get pretty tired. I tire really quickly of the maniacal Houston drivers. The trip to Corpus is basically an easy drive. Thank goodness for that since it takes twice as long to go there as it does to go to Houston.
DeleteI'm trying to find an identification for those flowers and the closest that I've come is something called a Texas thistle, but these don't look exactly like those and the leaves are wrong. I'd never seen this type of flower before until this past trip to Corpus.
