This post and the next one were composed on paper over the weekend, but thanks to backdating, I can put them where they belong in the lineup here. :)
There was a Brony meeting at the Galleria in Houston this weekend. The kids wanted to go, so they went and met some of their Brony buds. David and I, who have no affection for malls these days, sat in the car in the parking garage for about four and a half hours, talking and trying to balance not wasting the gas in the car and not melting due to the heat. Thankfully, it was only in the 80s, so it wasn't so bad. There were times that we had to crank the car, not because of the heat, but because other people think their right to pollute the air with their cigarette smoke supersedes my right to breathe.
The kids finally came out of the mall after having a fun time overall. We went in search of something to eat before heading back home. Our Marine treated us to the Olive Garden. David and I had soup, salad, and breadsticks. David, Jr., and Laynie had pizza, and Maggie had a shrimp and pasta dish.
It was a nice meal and a fun time together, though his leaving loomed ahead.
