Five Minute Friday: Whole

This week's Five Minute Friday prompt is: Whole.

Whole. Complete. All. Undivided. Everything. Healthy. Unhurt.

"Whole" can mean so many things.

I am some of them and none of them at the same time. A year ago, I had a whole body, as in all of my original major parts (teeth and tonsils being the exceptions), but I was not whole because the extras that I had (the tumors) were unhealthy for me. Today, I am healthier because of their removal, but am no longer whole because part of me was taken along with the invaders. I still haven't completely decided how I feel about that.

Unhurt, I am not. And worse, I have caused hurt and division for others along the way that has caused them to no longer be whole. For that, I will be eternally sorry.

Undivided, not separated. I wish that were the case. I am simultaneously separated from my past and dragging it alongside me, here in the now, where it can keep causing division. It seems that I don't know how to let go of the bad of the past and still hold onto the good. They've always been so tightly intertwined that I can't see the one without the other.

But, I know One that is all, that is everything, that is complete and He can heal the hurts, heal the body, and make whole again what is divided and lacking. He can remove the tumors from our soul and make our lives complete, if we surrender all to Him.

  3. Thanks for dropping by Suzanne.
    You're so right...beauty IS a hard topic.
I just jump over to your P.S. Annie blog and read your post. It's lovely! The beauty is that the word itself can invoke such diverse things in people. What I got from your post is that you see beauty as being entertwined with wholeness. Wholeness and healing are worth continuing to fight for. Have a great week!
