Sunflower Painting

I have been practicing with digital painting using a photograph as a base. Here is the painting that I did of an abstraction from a sunflower picture that I took recently. Up close, the swirls in the center look like locks of hair to me.

I would love honest feedback about this. Do you like it? If you do, I'd love to hear what you like about it and if you don't, I'd love to know that, too. I'm trying to find my place in this world of digital art and knowing what people like or don't like would be very helpful.
