Day Seventy: Rain, Rain, Go Away...

"...please come back another day."

Maybe you remember that song from your childhood. I do. I remember having plenty of opportunities to sing it.

It isn't my song today.

Our area has been without significant rainfall in weeks, if not months, now. The corn crops will be lost if we do not get rain within the next two weeks.

Things are hard for the farmers around here. The water is feast or famine, too much or too little, or at the wrong time when it does come. They are forever fighting nature, sometimes winning, sometimes losing.

We are to be thankful in all things, including droughts and floods. I have faith that He will send the rain, just in time.

70. I am thankful for the rain that other areas are getting and am thankful for the rain that we will get. I am thankful for the bumper crop of corn that *will* be harvested this year. I am thankful for farmers that keep on trying, even when all things point to just packing up and giving up.

  3. This song reminds me of Isaiah 55: 6-11, but especially verse 8/9. "My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are yours ways My ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts."

We can never totally understand God's way (while on earth), but that is where trust steps in and takes over.

Coming by from the Friday Link Up... and am following you on Google connects.
