Meet Us on WordPress

Hi folks!

I hope that you're all having a great day so far and are in for a wonderful weekend.

I am making some changes in my online life and one of those changes is that I will no longer be posting here on this PS Annie! My Instagram posts will still post here as it does that automatically.

Blogger has been giving me fits in regards to formatting and changing coding and all sorts of things I just don't have the time or nerves for anymore.

I have been cross-posting from here to PS Annie! on WordPress for awhile now.  And, as I have time to do so, I will be moving the posts from here to PS Annie! on WordPress, though the existing comments will not follow (because I don't know how to do that).

From this point forward, please join me over at PS Annie! on WordPress for posts that you would ordinarily find here.

Also, please join me on YouTube for our new cooking channel, From the Kitchen of McClendon Villa.  Your subscription there would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much for your readership of the original PS Annie! over the last 7 years here at Blogger.

Announcement: September Challenge 2018

sunflower-961739_640

This announcement is to let you all know that I won't be doing the September Challenge this year. So much has happened over the past year that I have not been able to concentrate on creating the questions. There are no signs of things slowing down anytime soon, so I would not be able to keep up with posting or visiting as I should.

I am sorry about this, folks, but hope to be back in full swing by next September.

Have a blessed day!

Announcing! From the Kitchen of McClendon Villa

Aunt Charlotte's Peanut Butter Cookies

Howdy, folks!

Many of you know that we have been working on creating a cooking/baking channel. Well, now, our first video is up! It is a peanut butter cookie recipe that my Aunt Charlotte (my daddy's baby sister) gave to me when I was a young girl. It is an easy recipe and uses very few ingredients - only four, to be exact.

Now, on with the show!

Please be sure to subscribe so that you don't miss the future goodies that we have planned!

Announcement: Maybe Moving PS Annie! to WordPress

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton

I hope you'll all join me as I contemplate moving PS Annie! completely away from Blogger. This is a big step for me. PS Annie! has been on Blogger for so long (since 2011). Historically, I have had no luck getting followers to move with me to a new blog. I don't want to lose anybody, but I don't want to continue fighting with Blogger and the coding/formatting issues. Those issues are taking the joy out of actually creating a post. I find myself putting it off as long as possible, which isn't a good thing when publicists are waiting to see the reviews!

For the foreseeable future, I will cross-post between the original PS Annie! on Blogger and PS Annie! on WordPress. Please be sure to follow PS Annie! on WordPress if you are a Blogger follower! I'd hate to lose touch with any of you.

If you're interested in posts solely on genealogy and family history, please join me at PS Annie! #2 on WordPress.

For memes, creative writing, and photography, please join me at McClendon Villa on WordPress.

Have a blessed day, y'all!

My Instagram to Blogger Posts

Howdy, folks!

Thank you to all of you that continue to visit our blogs and comment, although we are not able to reciprocate at the moment due to David’s hospitalization.  There are various restrictions on the wifi here that just complicate everything and constant interruptions do not make it any easier.

The easiest way for me to give updates is via Instagram, which I can do from my phone. My Instagram posts automatically post here to Blogger, but for whatever reason, the captions do not travel with the pictures.  If you click the Instagram link under the pictures, you should be taken to that Instagram post where you can read the story behind the photo and get updates on what’s going on with David, etc.

Just in case that isn’t where the link takes you, try this one:

Thank you all for your patience. Have a blessed weekend, y’all!

Update on David: The Foot and the Places It Didn’t Go Today

Monday morning was a very tense time for those of us here at McClendon Villa. David had an appointment at wound care at 9am at the hospital about 30 miles away from our home. All week, we’ve had a possible hospital admission and, potentially, a lower leg amputation hanging over our heads.

Many of you have prayed for David’s healing and for him to not have to be admitted to the hospital. Well, your prayers have been partly answered. While his foot hasn’t healed yet, it didn’t look any worse and he was able to avoid an admission to the hospital at this time.

Instead, the doctor has ordered a wound vac. We have two choices with this (outside of an admission). One choice is home health and the other is going to wound care 3 days a week.

The home health company in our area has smokers for employees and I have COPD. They have also proven to be incompetent otherwise, with one exception. That particular exception was a great woman to work with. She was friendly, caring, competent, AND a non-smoker. But, we believe that she moved on to another type of nursing soon after David was released from home health last time.  So, we have chosen to go three days a week to wound care at the hospital 30 miles away.

This isn’t the cheapest route, but appears to be the best one for both of our health. We know the majority of the wound care workers to be competent (some are too new for us to judge yet).

Please pray that we will find a way to afford these trips back and forth to wound care and are able to follow through until David’s foot is healed.

Thank you to all of you that have prayed for him. Please keep praying! The prayers are working and he WILL be healed.

Have a blessed week!

Changes

When I started PS Annie! way back in 2011, I wanted to focus on genealogy and family history and just family in general.  Over the years, various things have come along to pull me away from my initial focal point. This blog is changing much as my life has since I started PS Annie!

Over the last several months, I have been flooded with requests by publicists to do reviews and/or author interviews. As you may have noticed, a great many are being posted here now in addition to being on David's blog Random Thoughts and Observations.  While a book/product review blog is not what PS Annie! started out to be,  it seems to be a part of its life now. The funny thing is, I have no clue how they found me, but I am glad that they did. :)

Considering how much we love to read, how could I tell any of these publicists, "No, that is not the focus of my PS Annie!?"  I've never been good at saying no anyway and I love books!

It is a fun adventure and I hope that all of you are fine with it.  I now have PS Annie! #2 over on WordPress devoted solely to genealogy and family history, what this PS Annie! started out to be.  I hope you'll join me over there, too.

Have a blessed weekend, all of you!

Good News!

We have been granted a reprieve, of sorts.  While we will still be helping our friend for the next three weeks, another person has come into the mix to help, too.  This will make things a bit less hectic for David and me overall. Please pray for this other helper. She is recovering from a recent surgery. Thank you.

This also means that we should be able to make our usual weekly posts, uninterrupted, though our responses to comments may be delayed a bit.

Although I know there are some difficult moments ahead of us in this, I am feeling so much better about it. Thank you all for the prayers and hopes and good wishes. They have definitely helped!

Have a blessed day, y'all!  (Or, night, for you other night owls!)
