Here are the fill-ins:
1. As a child, my favorite playground activity was _______________________.
2. For breakfast, I have ___________________.
3. An instrument I would like to play is __________________________________.
4. I always try to _____________________, because _________________________.
Here are my responses:
I loved all of the activities on the playground except for the monkey bars. I was never any good at going from one rung to the next. I always fell off. I loved the swings, the merry-go-round, and the slide. I think I loved the slide the most. I could do flips and all sorts of things at the top of our playground slide. It was a risk, dangerous, and that made it so much fun to do. The swing was great...the higher, the better! I loved to lie down on the merry-go-round with my eyes closed while it was spinning. It was an awesome feeling to open my eyes and have the world spinning along with me. I know. I was a weird kid. Still am. :)
What we have for breakfast varies. Sometimes it is peanut butter crackers, sometimes a sandwich, sometimes leftovers from the last meal, and sometimes even breakfast foods like grits or eggs or cereal.
When I was a little girl, I wanted to play the violin. By the time I got to high school, I wanted to play the saxophone. Now, I would be happy to be able to play the piano. I was never able to have lessons for anything like that and no longer have the retention needed to play.
I always try to read in my Bible every day because it is one way to grow closer to Heavenly Father and improve my walk with Him and with others in my life.

The really bad thing about those slides back then was they were shiny metal. In the hot summer sun they would burn little legs and booties. I love you. Zing! Zing!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! I remember getting stuck on them fairly often, too. For whatever reason, I just wouldn't slide down no matter what I did.
DeleteI love you, too, my Zing. :)
I never liked the monkey bars, either. It seemed the ones who did were the rowdy boys. Even though I was friends with the boys, it made me made because they were stronger. I never got to take music lessons, either. I love music just the same, though. Well, thanks for the contest entry! It is always fun to win! I think you have my full name and address. If not, please let me know. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteWell, the boys in my neighborhood were not stronger than me, but I was no good on the monkey bars. They did okay, but I think that's because they were a bunch of monkeys anyway. haha
DeleteI love music, too.
Congratulations on your win. Please let me know when your prize arrives. I have contacted the company with your information.
Have a blessed day.
Congratulations to Annie, I know her cats will love those goodies. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins,great answers. I never could manage the monkey bars either, I have never ad arm strength. I have a hard time remembering now too and even 11 years ago when I tried to learn the piano. Always a good thing to read The Bible. Very cute kitty photo. Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ellen, for co-hosting such a fun event each week. We enjoy the fill-ins very much. I was always afraid to let go of the one bar to reach for the other one. I was scared of falling and almost always did when I tried to go from one bar to the next.
DeleteI am learning a lot this time through the Bible. The stories are so very interesting. I just read about the exodus of the Hebrew children from Egypt, all the plagues. Very interesting reading and it always leaves me with lots of questions, too.
Thank you. Wes was so precious and very photogenic. :)
I hope that you're having a blessed weekend, too!
I never liked the monkey bars either. Swings were more fun to me, although merry-go-rounds are fun, too. I picked piano too. Maybe someday I'll get back to it. First, I need a piano :) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! Swings were a lot more fun, especially if you had a good pusher. Merry-go-rounds always make me smile. It was on a merry-go-round where The Great I Reckon Incident of 1981 happened. :)
DeleteHave you checked your local Freecycle for a piano? Our piano was given to us by some friends back in South Carolina, but there are often pianos being given away in the classified sections of newspapers and sometimes through sites like Freecycle.
Have a blessed weekend. :)
Concatulations to the lucky winner! I need to keep an eye out and get some of those for Mudpie. My mom eats peanut butter crackers every morning for breakfast!
ReplyDeletePeanut butter crackers are a great way to start the day. :)
DeleteI hope you'll be able to get some of these treats soon and that Mudpie enjoys them when you do. The descriptions almost make me want to be a cat, too. haha
Have a blessed weekend!
