The Story of Noah’s Ark
Illustrated by Helen Dardik
We were provided a copy of The Story of Noah’s Ark to review.
This is a beautifully illustrated version of a classic Bible story that is sure to please the little ones in your life.
This book is intended for 3- to 6-year olds. As such, it is a simplified version of the story. While it talks of the flood and Noah’s family going into the ark to be safe, it does not touch on the potentially scary parts of the story, such as the fact that all of the other people on earth perished. It does not mention the raven that Noah sent out first or the first dove. It only mentions the second dove, the one which returned with the olive leaf.
If you want a book that tells everything that is a part of this story in Genesis, then you may not be happy with this book. In our opinion, this simplified version is a good, non-scary way to introduce this story to pre-school children.
The illustrations are really colorful. The animals that go into the ark with Noah and his family are very cute! There are 24 pages and, at most, two sentences on each page of the story. It is a good length for a bedtime story and for a beginning reader.
The Story of Noah's Ark has a padded cover and durable pages that can stand up to little hands. We think parents and children alike with enjoy this book.
