1. What is your favorite sit-down restaurant?
Overall, it was Quincy’s, but I think they are out of business now. They had the best yeast rolls. I could have eaten those all day long, forget the steak! Here in our little Texas town, my favorite is Niner’s.
2. What food could you eat for 2 weeks straight and not get sick of it?
SHRIMP! And cheesecake. But, mostly SHRIMP!
3. Have you ever had anything removed from your body?
Yes. Teeth, tonsils, fallopian tubes, ovaries, cervix, and who knows what else while they were in there.
4. What is the last heavy item you lifted?
I think the last heavy thing I lifted, tried to lift anyway, was a big flower pot. I got it up part way, then decided, nope, not happening.
5. Have you ever been knocked unconscious?
Like being conked in the head knocked out? I don’t think so. Doctors that have a sense of self-preservation have found it prudent to knock me out.
6. If it were possible, would you want to know the day you were going to die?
Yes. I would like to know that.
7. If you could change your name, what would you change it to?
If I could change my name, I would change it to what my daddy wanted to name me to start with. It is the divided version of the name that I have. My name is Suzanne. Daddy wanted me to be named Suzie Annie. Aunt Suzie was his grandma’s sister, and Annie was his paternal grandma. He called her “Big Mama”. It is this Annie that I named my PS Annie! Blog after.
8. What’s your goal for the year?
There are several. My goal is to take a picture, a clear picture, of a bird in flight. Another is to get this house back in some semblance of order.
9. Last person you hugged?
The last person that I hugged was probably David, my husband.
10. First place you went this morning?
To the bathroom. Always the bathroom. OY!
11. Do you always answer your phone?
No. I can’t hear very well on the phone anyway. I usually hand it over to David for him to see what the person wants.
12. It’s four in the morning and you get a text message, who is it?
It would probably be one of the kids.
13. If you could change your eye color what would it be?
I wouldn’t want to change my eye color. I like the color brown. My eyes are brown and have golden-ish flecks in them, with a darker brown stroke around the iris.
14. What’s on your wish list for your birthday?
I don’t have a birthday wish list.
15. Does the future make you more nervous or excited?
Since I was diagnosed with COPD, the future terrifies me.
16. Do you have any saved texts?
Yes, I have saved texts. Some of them are saved only because I haven’t figured out how to delete them on this phone yet.
17. Ever been in a car wreck?
Yes, many times. Most of the time I have been a passenger, but the most severe one, I was the driver. A man ran a stop sign, less than a mile before my driveway. He hit our car and sent our car careening into a ditch then up into a fence post or utility pole (can’t remember which). It was at the corner of a cow pasture for the local dairy. The front of our car was smashed in so bad that you couldn’t have retrieved the dipstick if you’d wanted to. Everything was jammed. I got out of the car to check on our baby, who was in a car seat in the back seat, screaming her little lungs out. The junior achiever that had run the stop sign asked, “Are you okay?” DOH NO! “Do I look like I’m okay?” Someone had called the dairy man and my parents. Before my parents got there, my sister drove by and saw this accident, which drove her blood pressure through the roof. It scared her half to death. When my mama got there, she tore into that other driver like a mama lion going after someone messing with her cubs. I think she left him rather speechless. Thankfully, me and our baby girl survived this accident. I can’t say the same for our car. Weeks later, we were still without a car. The doofus that ran the stop sign, however, was tooling around town in his car. This irked me to no end.
18. Do you have an accent?
I sure do, y’all! I sound like a Southern girl and am very proud of it! Now, whether that is South Carolina southern or Texas southern at this point, I do not know. :)
19. What was the last song to make you cry?
The last one that I can remember for sure making me cry was “Streets of Heaven” by Sherrie Austin.
20. What did you do last night?
I went to sleep, which is something I’d rather do in the day rather than the night.
21. Have you ever felt like you hit rock bottom?
Yes, and I have, many times.
22. Current hate right now?
Loathe would probably be a better word for this than hate, but immodesty is the answer either way.
23. Met someone who changed your life?
There have been many to impact my life and several that have changed it in a big way. Jesus has changed my life from someone with no future to someone with a future that goes beyond time as we know it. David and our children have changed my life. Teachers that encouraged me, Mrs. Pennington, Miss Elrod, Mr. Stokes, they all showed me my worth and knew I had potential.
24. How did you bring in the New Year?
I waited for the ball to drop at Times Square, the same as I have done for at least the last 32 years. And, this year we got to do that without a nurse interrupting the festivities.
