Evil Speaks
by
Sandra Woffington
We were given this
book so that we might review it. Evil Speaks is geared towards
teenagers. The book deals with mythology and the legends
and stories of old.
A group of teens with various disabilities are joined
together to fight against the powers of the underworld. There is one point in the book that implies
the use of the Lord’s name in vain but does not outright say it.
As Christian bloggers, we would be remiss if we did not
point out that although this group of teens is fighting a group of little g
gods, at no point in time is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob ever
mentioned in the book.
For Christian parents, we suggest, if you let your teens
read this book, that you read it before giving it to them and that you discuss
your views and that of your church regarding mythology before your teen reads
the book. Your church might find problems with the book.

Good review, but not my kind of book.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It isn't really our kind of book either. We keep getting offers for fiction books, so I accepted this one for review hoping that it would be a fun book for the teenager next door. But, we decided against giving it to her after reading it. Hopefully, the next one will work out.
