The fill-in-the-blanks:

1. I love the following Christmas film(s) ________________.

2. I don't care for the following Christmas film(s) .

3. At the holidays, I cannot resist __________.

4. A favourite holiday memory of mine is ___________.

My responses:

Miracle on 34th Street and It's a Wonderful Life have been my favorite Christmas movies since I was a little girl.

I can't think of any that I don't like. The Christmas cartoons are nice (at least the ones from my childhood. I don't know what's out there now.)  The only ones that I remember specifically as Christmas movies are Miracle on 34th Street and It's a Wonderful Life.  What else is there?

I'm getting pretty good at resisting a lot of things these days.  Food isn't one of them. Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year's food are always my downfall.  At least it is a well-cushioned fall! :)

A favorite Christmas memory of mine would have to be our first Christmas as parents.  We were on top of the world; nothing was stopping us.  We didn't know the horrible sadness that was just around the corner.  We splurged and got that boy way more than any child needed, because we could...and then, there were the grandparents, who weren't skimpy either.  No Christmas since has been the same.

    1. Thank you, Ellen. It is one of my favorite photos of Jared and me.

It is okay. It helped us along the way to better evaluate what was really important and our children didn't grow up spoiled as so many do.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. We really enjoy the fill-ins. Have a blessed day and weekend!

    1. Thank you, Annie. The sadness was because David's daddy died less than 5 months later, unexpectedly. It was our last Christmas together, but we didn't know it.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Have a blessed day and weekend. Hugs.

  3. I remember those Christmas' when mine were so little. There is nothing like the joy of a little child seeing all those presents and knowing they are just for them. This is a cute meme to do on Friday!

    1. Yes, it was. It would have been even better if my parents could have been there and all of us celebrated that first Christmas morning together. But, there's no fixing the past or re-doing first Christmases. It was still a beautiful day. :)

  6. Just did my first viewing of It's A Wonderful Life last night! I will probably watch it at least one more time. And Miracle on 34th too. I do like the classics. So sorry that one Christmas has left a shadow over the holidays. Some things just change us in big ways.

    1. Cool! Did you enjoy it? What did you think of the movie? Was this your first viewing of Miracle on 34th Street, too?

Yes, some things really do change us in big ways. When David's daddy died, it totally ripped our world apart. Our son was just over 6 months old his first Christmas. Before he was a year old, he'd lost his first grandpa. Papa Bruce was only 52 years old. My daddy died 16 days before Christmas 2012, and just 6 days after his 71st birthday. How can one's life ever be the same after burying one's father? It is a big reminder of how fleeting this life is and to not waste any time with our loved ones.
