13. Did any of the men in your family have big sideburns? What did you think of it then? What do you think of it now, looking back?
Daddy at our rehearsal dinner. 1984 |
YES! I don't know about any of the other men in the family, but my daddy had sideburns. They tickled. I thought they were great! There was one point in his life that, to me, he looked just like Burt Reynolds. Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of the picture that shows his "Burtiness" off at its best.

Nice photo of your Dad.
ReplyDeleteThanks! This photo was taken the night before I got married, at our rehearsal dinner. I think that Daddy was very happy with my choice of a groom. :)

My dad and a few of my uncles sported those sideburns. I had mixed feelings about them. That is a nice pic of your dad.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nonnie. :) Did they tickle your face with their sideburns, too?
DeleteThough I had lots of uncles, I only had one around me while growing up. He was a Navy guy, so had to stay shaved and minimal head hair, too. He kept that up even after retiring from the Navy. It does seem like I saw a photo once of my mama's oldest brother with big sideburns.

Thanks, Annie! You brighten my day, too. I'm blessed to have you as a friend. :)
DeleteThanks for the award. I will work on that post as soon as I get caught up here. Though I'll try to do it sooner, it might not be until the weekend.
