Here are the fill-in-the-blanks:

1. I wish ________________ would bring back ____________________.
2. An act of kindness that I do often is __________________________.
3.  I still have_____________from my childhood.
4. If I didn’t have___________________ , I’d be completely lost.

Here are my responses:

1. I wish that Heavenly Father would bring back my strength and health.

2. An act of kindness that I do often is let David have the pretty deviled eggs while I eat the ones that fall apart.

3. I still have baggage from my childhood. I also brought my Teddy bear into adulthood with me, though I do not know where he is at right now. I am afraid that he got lost in the move out here to Texas.

4. If I didn’t have my Zing, I’d be completely lost.  Quite literally…he is my driving compass.  I am bad about getting turned around.  David usually helps me to get going in the right direction again.   It's an adventure, especially when you make a pit stop and turn the wrong way leaving the gas station parking lot and end up headed back toward the city that you left an hour ago.

Please be sure to read David's response over at Random Thoughts and Observations.

Please subscribe to David's YouTube Channel. Thanks!

  1. Thank you for your fill-ins, great answers. I am sorry you have lost your strength and health, I will pray for you. That is sweet of you to let your hubby have the nice looking eggs :) I get lost easily too, I blame it on being left-handed. I hope you have a nice weekend.

    1. Thank you. I appreciate that. When I was 16, I could leg press over 700 pounds. Now, I couldn't leg press a flea if I had to. I used to be called "Hercules". It certainly doesn't fit anymore. The tumors and anemia took a lot out of me that, I guess, I won't ever recover.

Does it ever scare you when you get lost? Sometimes it upsets me; not so sure that it scares me, but it does upset me. What scares me is wondering why I didn't remember how to get wherever I was going, especially if it is somewhere that I've been a hundred times before. I'm right-handed, by the way. It's an equal opportunity adventure, I guess. :) My Grandma Spence was ambidextrous.

I hope that you have a great weekend, too. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I often get turned around going somewhere but I never have a problem finding my way home. Leg press 700 pounds?! You were wonder woman!

    1. I'm glad that you're always able to find your way home. :) One of the problems for me is that most of the roads around here have the same scenery. I forget if I have made this turn or that one yet. There are no memory markers for me, at least not until I get to the signs with the road numbers (FM 1093, SH 60, that sort of sign). In between those signs, when I have a senior moment, I have an internal freak-out trying to figure out what road I'm on.

It is funny that you mentioned Wonder Woman. She was my favorite super hero when I was a kid. I thought her airplane was pretty cool.

      Have a great weekend!

  4. We should talk. I have serious, chronic health issues. I have old baggage too. I struggle with it sometimes, but overall, with the grace of God, I won. It shaped me, but does not define me. I am estranged from my family, but it had to be this way. I wish you were closer, my friend. I am here, though, if you need a shoulder.

Thanks for being a part of Friendly Fill-Ins. With Summer closing soon, I will be getting back to my usual routine and will be able to visit more. My Mayo Clinic visit is coming up soon, too, so I hope to get some resolution on some health issues there. Thanks for your patience and understanding. I appreciate it. Annie at ~McGuffy's Reader~

    1. I think that it would be good for us to share our stories and concerns with each other. Please feel free to e-mail me anytime. I was estranged from my family from the late 1990s until after we'd been here in Texas for a few years. I never wanted it to be that way and, looking back, we never should have fallen prey to the lies that caused the estrangement. I am just thankful that the estrangement with my daddy ended before my daddy died in 2012. I guess there will always be a separation of sorts between my mother and me. She never liked me. I am sorry that you have to be estranged from your family, too.{{{Hugs}}}Please know that I am here anytime you want/need to talk through it.

We enjoy the Friendly Fill-Ins very much. Thank you and Ellen for hosting them. I hope that your Mayo appointment goes well and that they will be able to help you. You're in my prayers for complete healing and restoration. Please email me and let me know what's happening. I've been worried about you.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Have a blessed day.
