The "August Happiness Challenge" is hosted by Sam
over at One
Gal's Musings. Run on over to her place to learn all about it!
This post is a mixture of happy and not so happy on the mama
level. Our Marine left today for his
first assignment on-board a ship. We do not know when we will hear from him
again. We do not know if there will be Internet access on the ship or not. I will be happy to hear from him whenever he
is able to contact us. I am happy that he is having so many adventures and
making many memories that wouldn't be possible had he stayed here in this
town. I am happy for him because I love
him and being a Marine makes him happy.
I want all of our children to be happy and get where they want to go in
life.

You are a good mama. Mamas let go and let them be adults. But it's not easy. Thanks to him for his service.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nonnie. That is very sweet of you to say. I know I haven't been a perfect mama, but hopefully they all realize how much I love them.
DeleteWhen I get to talk/message with Davey again, I will tell him that you thank him for his service.
Have a blessed day. :)
It is hard to know what to feel here. Sad for him being away, scared because of the danger, happy because it is his dream, proud because only a Select Few make it this far.
ReplyDeleteAgreed on all counts.
DeleteNaturally, I think he is ahead of the pack. :)
I will be praying for his safety. I can understand your being worried about him though.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ellen. We appreciate the prayers for him very much. They do make a difference.
DeleteHave a blessed weekend!
