4. _______________always makes me laugh.
My answers for this week are:
1. I used to love to eat at restaurants, but now it repulses me. I have seen too many food handlers do "the nose thing", where they wipe their noses on their hands and then mess with silverware or put a bun on a burger and all manner of things without even bothering to wash their hands. Some argue "but I have on gloves!" My response: "Yeah, okay, so you have on gloves. You just got them all boogerty because you wiped your nose on your gloved hand. Or, you used your gloved hands to empty the trash and didn't remove those gloves and wash your hands and put on new gloves before you touched my glass or food!" We were once in a restaurant that serves chips and salsa as an appetizer while you wait for your entrée. I watched as the worker girl licked her finger and then get the next liner to put in the basket. I understand that some papers are hard to separate unless you wet your fingers, but good grief! Get a sponge! I do NOT want pre-licked chips! And YES, I called her on it! Thankfully, she then went and threw away all of those contaminated liners and chips.
2. I would never eat guacamole as a youngster, but now I love it. I wish that I had been eating it all along. It is great!
3. I always cry __________ . The period should be right at the end of cry. I always cry. I am a big cry-baby these days thanks to the emotional rollercoaster of confused hormones not knowing where to settle for the last stage of life.
4. My family almost always makes me laugh.
Please be sure to read David's response at: Random Thoughts and Observations.
1. Ew…I agree, too many unsanitary restaurant conditions. I tend to go to places that I know real well. 2. I love avocados! 3. My whole life, I did not cry. I could not allow myself to be weak. As I age, I allow myself to cry. I know I am still strong. 4. Bless your family…and you. Hugs. Thanks for joining us today! Big Hugs, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI don't even like to go to places that we know well any more. We do on very rare occasions. There's just too much ICK anywhere.
DeleteAvocados are great and very good for us. Paired with garlic, they're even better and healthier.
I had many reasons to cry as a child, but I hated crying. Whenever I do, it makes me mad. And, if I'm mad and I'm crying, that means I am *really, really* mad. Crying doesn't mean we are weak. It takes a strong person to risk crying where others can see it. Thank you. May you and your family be blessed, too. :)
Hugs to you, too, my friend. I enjoy this Friday Fill-Ins very much. Have a blessed weekend!
Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, I enjoyed your answers. I love to go out to eat so I try not to think about those things. I thought of saying I cry all the time too, but I narrowed it down. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome and thank you for making this opportunity available for us. I often have no clue what to post about and I don't want to have another year of nearly no posts like last year. I stand a chance at having at least two posts a week between Friday Fill-Ins and Wednesday Hodgepodge. :)
DeleteHave a blessed weekend!
My husband totally agrees with you on #1.
ReplyDeleteThank you. How do you feel about it? Do you like to go out to eat? Sometimes I try to make myself not think about the ick that is going on in restaurants, but mostly I can't make myself not think about it.
DeleteHave a blessed weekend!
good answers
ReplyDeleteThanks, Denise. Have a blessed weekend!
DeleteI eat out a lot. I really don't think about the ick I guess. Although, it drives me crazy when I use the bathroom and there is a sign that says "employees must wash their hands after using the facilities." Really?! They need a sign?! That is ick!
ReplyDeleteI agree! No one, except maybe little kids, should have to be reminded to wash their hands after using the bathroom. And what's up with bathrooms without hot water? I understand having the temperature regulated, but having no hot water available at all? That is gross, too.
DeleteHave a blessed weekend!
As someone who used to work in the food service industry, all I can say is: you're wise! Ha. I find it very hard sometime to eat out a restaurant because I do know what can happen behind the scenes. Mostly I am just thankful for a super immune system! :)
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you have a great immune system, too!
DeleteMine must be pretty tough, but we have multiple health issues in this household, so I have to be picky. Plus, some things are just too yucky to let pass without saying something. I've heard some stories way more gross than those that I've personally witnessed that make me shiver to even think about.
Have a blessed day!
