Is there one person who can drive you nuts, even if they aren't doing anything in particular?
Yes. Actually, more than one.
When you were a small child, how did you answer the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"
When I was a little girl, I answered, "A school teacher."
As a young teenager, my response was, "An architect."
I ended up starting college as an Early Childhood/Elementary Education major because I was too afraid of the math involved with architecture. I spent many moments drawing houses and buildings as a teenager. It was something that my daddy did, too.
It was something that I used as a stress reliever in days gone by until I was called a gold digger because of it. After the loss of my father-in-law, one of the people included in question #1 called me that because she didn't understand that house planning/design was a coping mechanism for me. She thought I had hopes of benefiting financially from his death. No amount of money on this planet could have eased the pain of his loss. I loved him as much as I loved my own daddy. Drawing and designing houses were a way to process the grief. I can't explain why, but it helped me through lots of hurtful moments.
Do you drink more sodas, iced tea, or water?
I drink more Diet Coke than anything at this point. We have to use artificial sweeteners in the iced tea due to David's diabetes. It makes me sick to my stomach if I drink it. I was raised on iced tea so sweet that you could nearly stand a spoon in it and that is the way that I prefer it. Granny made it that way, too. It was great. I am trying to drink more water, but I cannot drink the tap water here. It is disgusting and loaded with things that I am allergic to. I drink bottled water instead, which I realize is tap water, too, but it is purified and I generally do okay with it.
My favorite flavor of iced cream is________________.
I haven't met an ice cream flavor yet that I totally dislike. One of my favorites, though, is Moose Tracks. I also like Dutch Chocolate, Rocky Road, Banana Pudding (all of these are Blue Bell flavors)...and many, many more. I can't pick an absolute favorite!
Do you like to dance?
Not really. I am incredibly self-conscious. I don't like doing things that put me on display. However, years ago my late father-in-law pulled me out into the street in the little town where we lived and had me dance with him there during one of the town's street festivals. Only he could have gotten away with it. No one, not even him, has ever been able to get me over this major case of shyness.
Love icecream, especially this time of year.
ReplyDeleteI love it, too, though it doesn't love me. The cooler months are the most popular time for ice cream here where we live.

I have never heard of Moose Tracks before, and I wonder what it is like. I am wondering if it has anything to do with the animal moose... :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of the week.

It has been so very long since I've had Moose Tracks. I don't remember everything that is in it, but I'm pretty sure it was the one with peanut butter and chocolate and it was great. I couldn't get enough of it, but couldn't justify eating as much of it as I wanted to. :)
DeleteI hope that you get a chance to try it some day soon.

I need to pull you out of your self-conscience shell, girlfriend! Just go with the flow and enjoy life. Don't worry about what someone else thinks. Life is too short to not enjoy in all one's weirdness. I'll be the first to admit that I'm totally weird, too! lol Our freezer is well stocked with several Blue Bell flavors, and I plan to have some of that creamy goodness this holiday weekend! ;-)
ReplyDeleteMany folks have tried, but it has proven to be an impossible task, I'm afraid. Whoever stuffed me into the self-conscious shell locked the door behind them really good. But, you're welcome to give it a go. :)
DeleteI hope that you enjoyed your ice cream.

Moose Tracks seems to be a popular ice cream flavor!
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame that you were criticized for your interest in drawing and designing houses.
Yes, it does seem so. Many folks has mentioned it during this week's Chat posts.
DeleteI am used to the criticism. People don't understand how I am, so out of their ignorance, they are quick to find fault with my way of coping with things.

I think most little girls want to be teachers or nurses. For the most part we get to be those in the form of Mother!
ReplyDeleteSeveral have said Moost Tracks is their favorite but here in Missouri I haven't seen that. But I am going to look for it! :)
I think I am your newest follower! Have a great day!
I agree. I think that we get to wear a lot of hats as mamas. :)
DeleteHopefully you'll be able to find Moose Tracks there. I can't imagine being in a Tracks-less place. Totally unAmerican for the town not to have it. haha
Thanks being a new follower and for stopping by and commenting. Have a great week!
Your last answer kinda' hit home with me. Hug.
ReplyDeleteSo you're shy, too? Has it every kept you from doing something that you really, really wanted to do?

I feel like I'm sitting there on the porch with you getting to know you better.
ReplyDeleteI think I have heard of Moose tracks ice cream, but I am not sure what it is.

It has been so long since I've had it and my memory is faulty, but I think it is the one with peanut butter and chocolate. I just remember that I loved it very much. I could have eaten the whole container of it myself. haha
