David and I started reading War and Peace together after I came home from surgery in October 2010. I am happy to say that, after three and a half years, we are finally finished with the book. We plan to read Dracula next.
Here is the review that I posted on GoodReads tonight.
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I love history and found this to be an interesting story of war, of love, of abuse, of birth and death. In spite of it all, time still marches on.
Some parts were extremely sad and there is one scene in particular that I can relate to and hope, as a mother of a US sailor as well as a US Marine, that I never have to endure.
The loss and the longing for what can never be are what stand out to me the most.
It is a story worth reading.

Congrats on finishing the book, enjoy Dracula.
ReplyDeleteThanks. We haven't started Dracula just yet. David decided that we'd go through the Cliff's Notes for War and Peace. It has been rather interesting.
