#Gratitude Challenge Day 8

This is a 14-day gratitude challenge. You can read more about it here: Personal Excellence.

Day 8: Transform an Ungrateful Thought

A recurring, negative thought for me lately has been that it seems many young females out there are doing everything they can to make me feel completely inadequate and totally ugly...not enough for my husband.

In reality, most of the ones causing me the biggest problems probably don't even know that I exist.  They are just enjoying their youth and the things that society allows them to get away with.

I can turn this around and pray for Heavenly Father to help me to see that my husband chose me and that, although my body is no longer the healthy, youthful specimen that it was when it was given to my husband nearly thirty years ago, he still loves me. He chose me, not them. I do not need to fear their youth and vitality, or their happiness. I need to thrill in every moment that I have with my husband and those that are to come.

Redirecting my thoughts to this more positive direction will be hard, but "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13 KJV

Daily Journaling: Three Things I Am Thankful for Today

1. I am thankful for the memories of my younger days.
2. I am thankful for the thirty-four years that David and I have shared in one way or another.
3. I am thankful for the time that we have ahead together, however long or short that time may be.
