Chats on the Farmhouse Porch 46: #35

Questions
What do you do when friends or family pull out a camera? Hide, pose, smile, pull out your own camera and take a photo of whatever they are photographing, or something else?
I do my best to avoid being in front of the camera. I'd much rather be behind it. I do not like having my picture taken at all. That being said, I did a self-portrait shoot not long after I started this blog. If you're brave enough, you can visit that post here: One Little Word: Freedom
Did you take any type of music lesson in elementary school?
No, I wasn't given that opportunity, but I wanted to. I wanted to play the saxophone. I think that it is a really cool instrument.
What is your favorite color of cat (even if you aren't a cat person)?
I can't pick a favorite, really. We've had white ones with blue eyes (see my profile avatar), black ones with green eyes, gold ones, calico, and gray striped ones. They have all been pretty kitties.
What did you have for dinner yesterday?
At this point, I can't remember for sure, but I think that we had Manwich burgers. I know. We were bad.
Do your feet hit the floor running in the morning, or do you drag your self out of bed?
I am not a morning person. The only time that I don't mind being up in the morning is if I'm already up because I haven't bothered going to bed the night before. I am a night owl. But, even in this open 24-hours a day world, there are still some things that have to be done in the actual daytime. If not for them, my body clock would be totally happy! Have a great week!

  1. I love your open honesty. I think it is interesting that we have a similar demeanor, and are both nicknamed Annie!

    1. Thank you, Annie. I appreciate that very much. :)

The kitties on your blog are adorable. I especially love the one hiding in the photograph question. Too cute.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Have a great week!

    1. You're welcome, Patrice, and thank you, too.

I can usually survive on maybe half the sleep that my husband needs, though lately I am a walking zombie no matter how much sleep I get. Oh well, just a part of getting older, I guess. :)

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I hope that you have a great week!

  3. I am not a night owl. There was a period in our lives when we were desparately trying to start a home business which kept us up at odd hours of the night. I was real mess during that time and was so thankful to get our lives back again when we decided to abandon the home business.

Your self portrait was fun. I just love it! I think this is the best way to be, yourself!

    1. Thank you. It was fun for me, too. The hardest part was making myself post it. :)

We're up all hours doing various jobs and our clients/customers call us all hours, too. It just feels more natural to us to be up at night. Besides, it is way too hot here in the daytime.

I am sorry that things didn't work out with your home business, but glad that you got your lives back. What was your home business?

      Have a great week!

  4. Manwich for dinner was almost as bad as my McDonalds fries and a Mexi Melt later from Taco Bell. I don't know about you but I need some real food tonight.

    1. Manwich isn't good for us, for sure, but I like it. It is a quick fix when we don't have time for real food, which has been rather often lately. I've tried making it with a meat substitute and it just didn't work out well at all. It was rather disgusting, although the meat substitute works out great in tacos.

We've just gone through another really chaotic week work-wise, so the scale isn't being my friend because of the freaky, not healthy eating.

Yes, real food is a great option! I hope that you were able to get some real food and enjoy it.

      Have a great week!

  5. I like all color kitties too. One of my faves was our white kitty- she had one blue eye and one green eye! And was so sweet. Unfortunately, I have now developed allergies. :(

    1. I'm so sorry to hear about the allergies. We have a houseful of allergies, too. Cats give my husband a hard time but it doesn't seem to bother him so much anymore.

Your white kitty sounds beautiful. I don't think that I've seen any with two different colored eyes before. That is really cool. :)

I hope that you have a great week!

  6. It is awesome that you reply to everyone! It's also crazy that you can stay up for 24 hours straight. If I'm not down by 10 my legs give me heck all night! Been that way since I was a kid. Have a blessed day :o)

    1. I think that I've probably missed replying to quite a few folks over the last several weeks and I am very sorry about that. It has just been crazy here and I haven't even been able to make any posts or even put two words together that make any sense. Maybe that will get better soon. :)

I've never really needed a lot of sleep. If I am down for more than 6 hours, I wake up in extreme pain. So, I try to limit my sleeping as much as possible, trying not to go over 6 hours.

I'm sorry that your legs give you trouble if you don't get to sleep on time. I hope that everything is okay.

      Have a great week!
