Chats on the Farmhouse Porch 20: #13

Please head on over to Everyday Ruralty to join in the fun!

This week's questions:

Have you ever had a blog slump?

YES! For the past few months I think that has been my new address: 202 Slump Street, Blogslumpville, Same Ol' Slump, USA.

What's your favorite way to serve hot chocolate (cocoa)? Marshmallows on top? Whipped Cream? A cinnamon stick?

I love hot chocolate with the little marshmallows, lots of little marshmallows.

How do you handle it when you see someone you think you know, but cannot place? Do you approach them and ask, shy away, or just go home and hope you don't think of it at 2am?

I generally go ahead and let them know that, although I should remember their name, that I don't at that moment. Old lady brain and all that you know. I'm better at remembering faces than I am at remembering most names.

What was your position in your family? Were you the oldest, a middle child, the youngest or an only child?

I am the oldest and also the runt of the litter. Between August 1965 and July 1968, my mama had four babies. There are twin boys sandwiched between me and my baby sister.

How do you handle accumulated possessions (stuff)? Are you a pack-rat, a minimalist, or somewhere in between?

Pack-rat, definitely a pack-rat, at least when it comes to things like books and magazines, beads, and yarn. You never know what you might need later. I know why I am the way that I am. One never knows what financial turn is ahead and maybe a person would no longer have the resources to be able to buy these things in the future. Besides, with the books and magazines especially, in another year or two I won't remember that I read it so it will be a brand new book all over again. (It might not even take THAT long for me to forget that I've already read it!)

  1. Totally agree on the storing stuff because it could be needed. Why waste resources? It's just a little hard to keep it all under control, sometimes. Then I get organizing. But it can take me years to get to that point.

  2. Very nice to chat on your porch today.
That is so cute that you are the oldest with twin brothers and a baby sister. I liked the name of your blog slump too. That cracked me up.
I hope you have a nice rest of the week.

  3. I think that those of us who had parents or grandparents who went through the Depression, tend to always want to be prepared. I think we also realize that one's financial condition could change in the blink of an eye.

I like the address you made up!
    Thanks for dropping by.
I will email you back soon:)

  4. I'm definitely a pat-rat when it comes to my crafting stuff. You made me laugh about your books & magazines. You're so right, let enough time pass and you'll think it's new to you again.Co-incidentally, I was the runt of four, too. =D

Thanks, all of you, for stopping by and commenting. Sometimes I'm tempted to really change my address to the one mentioned in my post. It definitely fits most days, but I'm trying to get better. I love the linky-related posts, but am working on having more "natural" posts, too. Maybe I'll do like some other folks have done and combine the two into one post. We'll see.

Thanks again for stopping by. I hope that you all have a great day!
