Questions
1.If you could bring someone to Patrice's porch to join in on our chat, who would you bring?
I would bring my granny. She was a country girl at heart and would fit right in. Besides, I miss her something awful.
2.What's your favorite thing to make when fall rolls around? (Can be food, or maybe a craft.)
Thanksgiving is technically in the fall...so Thanksgiving dinner. I love it. It is my favorite holiday of the year.
3.How many times a month do you go to a library or bookstore?
I don't go nearly as often as I should. The majority of my book buying is through Amazon rather than in an actual bookstore. The closest bookstore, aside from the one at the junior college, is over 30 miles away.
4.What things make blogs the best?
It is always an adventure trying to come up with something to post about. I love reading other folks' blogs and reading about their lives and interests.
5.If someone would pay for you to take a class (any class- college-private-online-at a craft store-the sky's the limit here, my friends), what class would you take? (BTW- I wish I could go "poof" with my magic wand and make this happen for each of you!)
I would love, love to learn to speak Irish Gaelic. That is my hard wish. For something much easier, I'd love to learn more about jewelry making and lampwork.

Welcome to the porch, Suzanne! I'm so glad you joined us this week. I love Thanksgiving too! I bet I'd enjoy visiting with your Granny. I think the older country folks had such wisdom about living. I'm sure you do miss her. I miss my mom and grandmother very much. (Very, very, much!)
ReplyDeleteI have a daughter who wants to learn Gaelic. She's a harpist and some of the songs she has in her music books have Gaelic. She already studies Italian, French, and German. I'm doing good if I speak English well each day. (I'm American and I was born here. I just get tongue tangled and sound kind of silly some days!)

I just noticed two things when I went to follow you- Your art is beautiful. So expressive! I also noticed that you are a Marianne Dashwood. I've never seen anyone who tested out to be Marianne. I'm an Elinor. I have a daughter who is an Elinor and one who is Elizabeth Bennett.I think "Which Austen heroine are you" is fun.

A picture of my grandma is there, too. Grandma was softspoken and gentle; Granny, well, you never doubted where you stood with her. haha I'm sorry that you're missing your mama and grandma, too.
English tongue-ties me pretty good, too! I was born in SC, have lived in the US for 46 years now (since birth) so it really shouldn't confuse me so. But, it does. :)
I think the harp is a beautiful instrument...its music and the instrument itself. Best wishes to your daughter as she seeks to learn Gaelic, too.
I think that horses are beautiful. You are so blessed to have them!
Thank you for your compliments regarding my artwork. I am wanting to learn traditional painting to go along with my photography and digital work. Maybe someday!
