Five Minute Friday: When Seasons Change

Please visit The Gypsy Mama to play along with Five Minute Friday.

This week's prompt is: When Seasons Change.

I grew up in the Upstate of South Carolina not far from the Blue Ridge Parkway. During the fall of the year, it is one of the most breathtaking scenes that one could ever witnessed. The gorge is alive with color: oranges, greens, yellows, reds, browns. Just beautiful. I miss the colors that come with the change of the calendar page. It makes me homesick to think of it.

I have lived on the Texas Gulf Coast for almost seven years now. The fall here looks and feels just like summer and sometimes just as hot. There's no real winter as compared to back home here either. It just isn't natural for it to be 89 degrees, and to be at the beach not shivering your toes off, on Christmas Eve.

So, the calendar flips, the pictures come out, I remember what was, and home calls me all the louder when seasons change.

Please head over to The Gypsy Mama's site to join her linky there.
