Important Notice!!! We are currently dealing with a serious health crisis involving David. Computer time and blogging will be taking a backseat until we can get this situation under control and, hopefully, save his leg. Please bear with us as we go through this difficult time. Thank you for any prayers that you can offer up.

Also, if you'd love to help cheer him up, please subscribe to his YouTube channel. That would really make his day! The link is at the bottom of all of my posts.

Thank you and Merry Christmas to all of you!

Day Fifty-Six: Young Love

Many years ago as I started my freshman year of high school, I was walking by the chemistry room window. Inside, I saw a young man that captured my attention. I was intrigued. My best friend and I decided to stop at that window one day to talk to the guy. My friend isn’t backed up about anything and she had no problem talking to him. I have always been really introverted, shy to a fault, and all I could do was giggle at him. I was too afraid to talk. She asked him to feel how cold my hands were and he touched me.

This photograph was taken outside of the Perimeter Mall in Atlanta just before we were married. It is my favorite picture of us because we were so obviously happy, so much in love, full of excitement thinking of what the future might hold.

That was so many years ago. Age is taking its toll on those once youthful, healthy bodies. Time and circumstance have each done their part to control the happiness and hope that once existed. Neither age, nor time, nor circumstance has changed the most important thing: we still love each other. It is an older, more mature love that has mellowed to a calmness not imagined in the minds of nineteen and twenty-one year olds. It will stand the test of time.

What do you do to keep the love alive? How do you weather the storms life brings to a relationship?

56. I am thankful that, after all of the storms, all of the fireworks, love remains.
