Kindred Spirits

While my husband was in the hospital several times over the last year, I got the idea of taking pictures at the hospital to mark this point in our lives. I couldn't just leave them as regular images; I had to play with them, hoping for some way to find a "pretty" in moments that were closer to ugly and scary than they could ever be to pretty.

I've decided to name this series of images "Kindred Spirits" for a variety of reasons. I know that over the last year, there were many other wives facing similar battles (husbands, too). Regardless of the hospitals we were stationed at, we all shared similar fears of what could happen if we turned our backs for even one moment.
