Rest in Peace, Little Bit

Little Bit ©28 April 2017 Suzanne G. McClendon

I went outside this afternoon to check on Little Bit.  She was going to have babies and I wanted to keep up with when she had them and where.  What I found was not what I wanted to find.

In the vines along the edge of our driveway, I found her lying still.  I was hoping that she was breathing.  She was not.  She and her babies had gone to the Bridge.

Just like with Callie, there was only one puncture wound. Callie's was on her chest.  Little Bit's was on her neck.  All we can figure is that it was a snake.  That was the only injury on her.  Any other animal, like those big dogs next door, would have torn her up.

Little Bit was a very special kitty. She acted more like a puppy than a kitty.  She came when I called her and followed me everywhere when I was outside.  Her favorite place was twirling around my legs.  She loved to help me take pictures, too.  Her opinion was the best pictures always included a cat face or tail, up close and personal.

I'm sure going to miss my Puppy-Cat.

Rest in peace, Little Bit and babies.

    1. Thank you, Debby. It is going to be so hard to get used to her being gone. We have no more kitties now. We haven't been without kitties in probably 20 years. We just have the grandpuppy now. We don't plan to get anymore kitties and when it is Petra's time to go to the bridge, no more dogs either. It is just too hard to say good-bye. We've had enough of death and burying our furbabies and just can't take anymore of it. {{{Hugs}}}
      Thank you again. Have a blessed day.

    1. Thank you, Annie. It has been a very sad day.
      Yes, the outside world is a dangerous place, for critters and humans alike. One thing that we're having to consider is that there is apparently a very large, one-fanged- or fangs so far apart that one misses what it bites- snake wandering about our yard with at least two fatalities to its name. There are baby humans toddling about next door and we don't even know where this snake is. Very scary.
      Have a blessed day.

    1. Thank you, Barbara. They most certainly do all those things. There's just nothing quite like having a kitty swirl around one's legs to bring a smile to one's day.

      Have a blessed day.
