The Sign of the End of the Age: What Jesus Taught about the Future in Matthew 24
By Paul Kalbach
The Sign of the End of the Age What Jesus Taught about the Future in Matthew 24 is an extremely well-written discussion of different points of view regarding what the scriptures say about the end of times.
The author, Paul Kalbach, attempts to show scripture references that support his understanding of what will take place at the end of the world. He also makes sure to present different views and backs those up with references from well-researched works.
We were given a copy of The Sign of the End of the Age so that we could read it and write this review.
This is not a quick read, nor should a subject such as this be addressed lightly. This is the kind of book you should take one chapter at a time and read your favorite translation of The Holy Bible along with it.
If you are interested at all in understanding the scriptures and what they tell us about the end of times, this book should definitely be a part of your overall readings.
You may want to consider donating a copy of this book to your church library and gifting copies to your favorite Bible student.
We give it all five stars. It is well-written. It is well-researched. It tackles a very difficult subject and helps lay people understand a little better what the scriptures say about this topic.
One does not have to be a theologian to understand The Sign of the End of the Age. We can imagine that churches would like to have a scripture class that takes one chapter per week and discusses that chapter. There are twenty-six chapters, so a church could have classes meet every week and each week really dive into the scriptures for six months.
We think anyone serious about understanding scripture will benefit from a slow reading of this book. We enjoyed it. We do not think one should try to read this book quickly, even though we normally polish off at least one book a day.

I think this would give me nightmares.
ReplyDeleteI try mostly not to think of how the end of the world will go. There's nothing I can do about it anyway. I figure Heavenly Father has it all under control. We believe in Him and Jesus, what John 3:16 says, so we're good, no matter what happens in the end.
