Here are the fill-ins:

1. Keep calm and ___________________________________.
2. __________________________________ disappoints me.
3.                           is my _________________.
4. In retrospect,                                   .

Here are my responses:

Keep calm and read on!

There are many things that disappoint me.  One is the disrespect that is shown to the elderly and to our veterans.

Heavenly Father is my Rock and my Redeemer. In Him, I have everything I need.

Looking back, there are many things in my life that should/could have been handled differently. I am where I am now due to choices made then, either by me or by someone else. Our lives are full of choices. Make the best ones!

Have a blessed weekend, y’all!

  1. I like your answers. Reading is a wonderful thing, always. It has certainly saved me many times. I can relate to #3 and to #4. They actually go together, too. My faith in God saves me and sustains me. Always. Peace.

    1. Thanks, Annie. I have always enjoyed reading. We always had books around when I was a little girl.

Peace to you, too. Have a blessed day. :)

  2. Suzanne,
You are correct. We are the sum of our choices, good or bad and the choices of others. I love you, my Zing!

  3. Thank you for these great answers. I agree it is sad how veterans and elderly are treated. One day I held the door for an older vet ( he had a hat on that said he was) and he was trying to get me to go ahead, saying ladies before gentlemen so I said vets before anyone and he was very touched. Have a nice weekend! XO

    1. That sounds like a very sweet moment. :) I think some of them, especially the Vietnam vets, just don't realize how many of us are truly thankful for their service to this country. They got treated so very badly when they came home from that was. It was just awful and so many of them still carry wounds, physical and emotional, not just from the war itself, but from the rejection once they got back home.

      Have a blessed day. :)

  4. Reading certainly has been a calming force in my life. Although, I suppose it depends on the book. Sometimes they can get my heart pounding. And often, they give me good mental food to ponder.

Respect for others, especially the elderly and our veterans sometimes does seem to be lost, doesn't it? It really is disappointing.

    Have a great weekend, Suzanne!

    1. Some books are anything but calming, that's for sure! I read one a while back that had my heart thumping the whole way through. It was called Beastia. You can read my review of that book here.

Yes, it is really disappointing. I've seen people harass disabled veterans, jump in line ahead of the elderly, be rude to an elderly cashier, all sorts of things.

Thank you. Have a blessed day. :)

  5. Reading is such an important thing to do, as even if we can't travel we can explore entire worlds within the pages of a book. The lack of respect for the elderly really upsets me but I just keep hoping that by the rest of us showing respect then eventually it will rub off on others.

    1. Oh yes, you are so right! You can go anywhere by reading a book. I'll (likely) never get to go to Ireland in my lifetime, but I have been there often as I read stories set there. It is wonderful how far one can go with a book!

I agree. We need to teach by example and hope and pray that respect rubs off on those around.

      Have a blessed day. :)
