Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Do your actions match your words? Elaborate.

I think this one is a mixed bag. Most of the time, I think my actions and my words match up. But, sometimes maybe I’m saying that I’m fine while at the same time slamming a door or tapping my foot or deep breathing, or fighting back tears, which would indicate something not so fine.

2. Sick as a dog, go to the dogs, dog days of summer, dog tired, it's a dog's life, every dog has it's day, can't teach an old dog new tricks...now doggone it which saying could most recently be applied to your life?

Two of these are battling for first place in my life right now: dog tired and can’t teach an old dog new tricks.  I’m having trouble even holding onto the old tricks! I wake up each day more and more tired, but I am learning how to deal with it and just push through anyway.

3. Your favorite book featuring a dog in the storyline? What makes it a favorite?

The Incredible Journey by Sheila Burnford
It is a great story about perseverance, working together, overcoming adversity, and love of family.

4. What's something you hope to one day have the confidence to do?

I hope to someday actually have the confidence to complete the books that I started 20 years ago AND to tell the story that I am not at liberty to tell right now.

5. August 16th is National Tell a Joke Day. So tell us a joke.

I don’t know about the legalities of posting the joke itself here, so here is the link: The Penguin Whisperer.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

There sure are a lot of funny ones out there!

PSSS! Did you notice? Over there in the sidebar...."Back Where I Come From" - the 2017 September Challenge is coming soon!

    1. It is hard to deal with when the weather is back and forth like that. Here, we just have hot. I wish it would get cold here! Our heat index was 109 degrees the other day. I have been melting. It is so hot I can't even think straight and we don't even get a real winter to look forward to.

I hope that your weather will make up its mind soon and even out for you. :)

      Have a blessed day.

  2. I'm dog tired too! Your penguin joke was hilarious and your response to #1 very thought-provoking.

The September challenge sounds fascinating and fun, but I try to stay semi-anonymous on my blog so I probably wouldn't be able to answer most of the questions since I still live in the town where I was born!

    1. I hope you're able to get some rest soon, too. Thank you. I am no good at coming up with jokes on my own and I loved that one when I found it.

Hmmm I wonder if you could participate in the challenge, treating it as a creative writing experience, maybe answering the questions with alternate reality-type answers? Basically, making it all up with a disclaimer at the beginning that its a fiction piece or something. That could be an adventure. :)

I'm a long way now from where I was born and raised, about a thousand miles away. I sure do miss the area where I grew up. How blessed you are to still be where you were born. Were your folks born there, too?

      Have a blessed day.

  3. I can certainly relate to waking up tired. I just don't know how to adjust to it.
How will the September challenge work? Is there a link or something?

    1. At some point, I think we just get used to it enough to get through it. If I waited until I was no longer tired to do something, I would never do anything, because I am always going to be tired. Anemia is no fun. I hope you will be able to get rested and find a way to adjust to your tiredness if rest doesn't fix it.

      Have a blessed day. :)

    1. I hope you'll participate. The more the merrier. :)

Thank you. If I can get this anemia under control, I know I'll feel a lot better. I'm working on it.

Have a blessed day, Colleta. :)

  6. I'll have to check out your challenge. I haven't heard of that one. I find even if I do learn something new these days I don't retain it. I'm sure my kids get weary of having to show me the same thing on the computer multiple times : ) Hope you're having a good day!

    1. Thank you, Joyce. This is the second year that we've hosted this challenge on both PS Annie! and my other blog McClendon Villa. We choose a different song each year and hope to do it for many years to come.

Do you have any tricks that you use to try to help you retain things? I'm forever having to be re-told things, too. It gets very frustrating to have to keep being re-told things. Even when I write things down to help me remember, I forget where I put the paper or the computer file. OY!

I hope that you're having a blessed day, too. :)

    1. Thank you, Ellen, for your encouragement. You'll be among the first to see it if I ever get it written. :)

      Have a blessed day.

  8. I have read the parts of both the books that you have already written and I think they are great. I hope you can get back to working on them. I love you, Zing! Zing! BTW, you know I will be there for the September challenge. Zing! Zing!

    1. Thank you. Maybe someday I will be able to complete them, but things need to stop attacking my thinker before that can happen.

Yep, I do, and I hope that you won't let me forget about it myself. :)

I love you, too, my Zing.
