Here are the fill-ins:

1. Meetings __________________.

2. Rules __________________.

3. The best time to ____________is ____________.

4. I have learned ____________________________.

Here are my responses:

Meetings are not something I want any part of. Meetings involve groups of people and I work better alone, in a quiet environment. I cannot focus my thoughts with a lot of people around. It is like my brain shuts down. This isn’t the case with David or the kids around, just other people, especially loud or constantly moving people.

Human rules are meant to be broken. Sometimes the best discoveries are made by breaking a rule here and there.

The best time to sleep here in this part of Texas is during the day when it is too hot to do anything else.

I have learned some pretty cool watercolor techniques recently and can’t wait to give them a try!

Have a blessed weekend, y’all!

  1. Pretty baby picture. Many rules were made to be broken. It is too hot to sleep even during the cool part of the day here. I love you. Zing! Zing!

    1. Isn't she just beautiful? There were so many babies to choose from, but I kept coming back to her. :)

I agree. It is too hot, no matter the time of day or night right now.

I love you, too, my Zing.

  2. It is good that you know what is the best condition for you to work. That is half the battle.
I don't think that rules are meant to be broken. However, I think they need to be questioned and re-evaluated from time to time. A lawless society is becoming a scary reality. Chicago is a good example of that.
I could never sleep in the daytime or in the heat. I need it dark and cool. I guess I would read my way through the SE Texas heat, like I did as a kid.
Enjoy the water colours. I admire that talent! Hugs.

    1. Thank you. I will enjoy the watercolors.

Ok, in regards to rules, you will note that I did not say "ALL" rules.

We should obey the Ten Commandments and Jesus' commandment to love everyone. No question there at all. Those are absolutes and no room for arguing against Him on them.

However, man-made rules are not so written in stone as far as I'm concerned, and I will continue to break those that have absolutely no moral basis, but arrogance of "experts", behind them.

Tell me the benefit of following rules in regards to, say art, when following the rules does not result in the image you are looking for. There are alleged experts that say one MUST follow the rule of thirds, that a photo is not properly composed unless it follows that rule. But, who are "they" to determine what pleases someone else, especially those of us that prefer symmetry and centered images? I lean more toward Ansel Adams' way of viewing things..."There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs."

I think this thought crosses over to many things.

What about those rules that say you can't feed the homeless? Should that rule be followed or broken?

Rule-breakers built this country. Rule-breakers saved the life of the man in the burning Meals on Wheels truck. Rule-breakers saved David's life on several occasions, including when the Meals on Wheels truck exploded during their rescue mission.

While completely sinless, Jesus broke the Jewish laws by healing on the Sabbath and by claiming Himself to be Heavenly Father's Son (which, of course, He is!). He broke the rules of death which would have kept Him in the grave. He ate with tax collectors. He didn't wash His hands. He didn't tell His parents where He was. He talked to the adulteress. He didn't answer all of Pilot's questions. And *This* "Rule Breaker" saved me for eternity.

The Apostles were told not to speak of Christ again and they did anyway.

The public schools I attended were forbidden to say anything at all promoting Christianity. My 11th grade homeroom teacher read devotions and prayed each morning anyway. God's law above man's law.

I think I have some pretty good rule-breaking examples to follow.

      Have a blessed weekend, Annie.

    2. I think we have interpreted "rules" differently. Peace.

  3. Thank you for participating, great answers. I prefer to work alone too :) I think I get overstimulated when too many are around and I can't take it all in. I can't wait to see your new water color techniques. Have a nice weekend! XO

    1. Thanks, Ellen. I always enjoy the fill-ins. I know I'll get to think at least one day a week. :)

I think that is my problem, too, getting overstimulated. It is just hard to think with a lot going on, just too much. In the last place that we worked, the owner was standing right behind me talking (I think to David), quite a few customers were asking me for lottery tickets, and we were trying to change out the shift. Remember those old Calgon, take me away commercials? I needed that to happen right then. I just stopped what I was doing right then and told David that I couldn't go on in that environment, at least not until everyone would be quiet so that I could think.

I hope to give the watercolor technique a try after lunch. Once it dries, I will either photograph it or have David scan it so that I can show you. Thank you for your encouragement.

I hope that you have a blessed weekend, too. :)

  4. When I worked the best meetings were the ones where we were told what the objective was and how much time we had to get the work done then let alone to do it. Too much management is a problem for me. There are rules then there are the Rules. Just need to know which ones are which.

    1. Exactly! The Rules, no question we should obey those. The others, well, they aren't cast in stone and many should be questioned. I never liked too much management, either. With my first job, I didn't really mind it. It was a job with family. Every other job, I would rather have been told what I needed to do and then left alone to do it - and allowed to do it properly. The bakery management wanted nothing to do with it being done right, they just wanted it done fast. That was a very frustrating job. I wasn't at all surprised when they went out of business.

      Have a blessed weekend. :)

  5. I'm alot like you - I do better alone. I don't need alot of people and I don't need meetings. I always think they are useless anyway. Hope you have a great weekend!

    1. It is kind of frustrating being an introvert in an extroverted world, isn't it? I hope that you have a blessed weekend, too. Thank you. :)

    1. I agree! I think that each of us needs to be allowed to work with our nature and not against it. Things would go a great deal smoother in the workplace if that were allowed to happen.

      Have a blessed weekend. :)
