Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. We've reached edition number 315 here in the Wednesday Hodgepodge. So tell us, what were you doing at 3:15 yesterday? Is that typical? On a scale of 1-10 (with 1 being low and 10 being high) what's your energy level usually like at 3:15 PM?

My energy level is the same at 3:15pm as it is at 3:15am and any other time: I am always tired. Not sleepy, but tired thanks to some health issues. I was probably napping at 3:15pm yesterday. On days when we're able to live by our natural body rhythms, yes, that is typical. We function best and are most productive at night. Besides, it's way too hot here in the daytime!

2. A frisbee, a tantrum, a towel, a party, a punch, or a curveball...which have you most recently thrown or had thrown at/for you? Elaborate.

Tantrums and (figurative)punches have been on the menu frequently lately, making me feel like throwing literal ones. But, I’ve been a good girl and haven’t punched anybody.

One drama resolved itself and, just so we wouldn’t get too bored with something like, I don’t know, PEACE, another one came along to pick up the slack. I think this particular one qualifies as a curveball, too.

3. What are three things that would help you right now. Tell us how or why.

Vodka, valium, and vacation. They would help me to get away from it all, reality, especially.  Really, I think the only thing that is going to help me right now is prayer. Why? Because I can’t do this on my own.

4. Do you think you're strong? Why or why not? What makes you strong?

Physically, I used to be very strong. I even had the nickname Hercules. When I was 16 years old, I could leg press over 700 pounds. I only weighed 99 pounds myself at the time. I was able to lift heavy things until the summer of 2010.  Now, I have great difficulty even picking up a milk jug. The tumors took more from me than my uterus. They stole my physical strength and it is showing no signs of returning.

Otherwise, I am strong-willed, but battling depression. So, I guess I am very weak emotionally right now. At least it feels that way. I haven’t taken the escape route, so I must be at least a little stronger than I think I am on this front.

5. Do you enjoy reading historical fiction? What's your favorite book set sometime in the past?

I sometimes enjoy historical fiction, but I much prefer true history. There are so many fascinating things in the true history of this world that I hate to waste time reading fake history. I’d rather use that time for the real deal.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I sure miss morning time with my birdies.

    1. Thanks, Joyce. There have been some moments when it has been extremely tempting. Some people make being nice very difficult. But, I want to stay out of jail more than I want to punch them so that helps me keep my hands to myself. haha

    1. Thanks, Ellen. This drama will pass eventually. At least I hope it will. With this last bit, I am trying to just consider the source, as they say, and not think too much about it. Easier said than done, though.

My legs have always been pretty strong, not so much anymore though. Now, I'm doing something just to be able to move 5 pounds. I guess some of us don't get to be Hercules forever. That's okay. Maybe I'm meant for something different at this stage of life. Thankfully, my camera isn't too heavy for me to lift. :)
