Mayo or Miracle Whip?

I have a few questions for all of you out there, specifically you Southern women (born and raised in the South), but the rest of you please answer, too.

When you make deviled eggs, do you use mayonnaise or Miracle Whip?

Do you use mustard or not?

How do you make deviled eggs?

Thank you for your responses.  Have a blessed day!

  1. All I know is that my granny for short, a fine Christian woman and good
Southern Baptist, would not use any sacrilege like mustard in her deviled eggs. Dukes Mayonnaise, pickle juice, a little salt, and paprika and half an olive for garnish.

    1. I'm sure Grandma McClendon was the deviled egg master. :)

  2. For deviled eggs, I use Miracle Whip, salt, pepper, bacon crumbs and a few drops of Worcestershire sauce. It's my sister's recipe and it won 1st place as a side dish at a local BBQ cookoff.

    1. Oooh bacon crumbs! That sounds like a wonderful addition to deviled eggs!
      Congratulations to your sister. :)

  3. I use mayo although I have probably used Miracle Whip years ago. Yes I use mustard too.

    1. Do you have a preferred mayo brand? What kind of mustard do you use, just regular yellow mustard?

      Have a blessed night. :)

  4. I can't stand Miracle Whip, I only use real mayo. I add a dash of our homemade horseradish instead of mustard.

    1. I used to like Miracle Whip, but not so much anymore. They must have changed it over the years. Horseradish in deviled eggs is an interesting idea. Do you use pickle juice, too, or just the horseradish for the "zing"?

      Have a blessed night. :)
