Here are the fill-ins:

1. ___________________ landline.

2. My most treasured piece of jewelry is _____________.

3. This year, I have learned _________________________.

4. I would like to ______________________ before this year is over.

Here are my responses:

We do not have a landline. We disconnected it several years ago. We didn’t need it anymore.

All of my “real” jewelry is treasured for one reason or another. My wedding ring and engagement rings mean the world to me. I also have rings from my granny and from a family friend and from our children. They all have a very special place in my heart.

Here are a few of my treasures…

These treasures are from several of our loved ones. The mother-of-pearl ring is from a family friend. One of our daughters shares her name, too. The cameo is from my mother's oldest sister. The other two rings belonged to my paternal grandmother, who I knew as "Granny". The CPC pin was earned by my late father-in-law in his 4th year as a top salesman for National Cash Register(NCR). David gifted me with two engagement rings, one when we were first engaged, and the second when we were officially engaged. The string of pearls was David's wedding gift to me. I wore his paternal grandmother's pearls for the formal bridal portrait and my own on our wedding day.

This year I have learned that the love of cake decorating has not left me. Neither has the fear of failure. Cake decorating is something that I want to get into again. I don’t want to let the fear of failure - or anything else - keep me from making a go of it this time around.

I would like to go somewhere to take pictures of some totally awe-inspiring places before this year is over. I want to master the art of nature panoramas and abstract expressionism. I want to create a beautiful image that shares with others what a wonderful Master Artist our Heavenly Father is!

Somewhere like this maybe...

  2. Suzanne,

I would love to visit some of the National Parks out west. The landscape is so different from the east coast mountains found in the Smoky's. Beside my engagement and wedding rings being my most treasured jewelry and ones I wear all the time, as well as my pearl earrings which I did not list, DH got me a beautiful strand of pearls for our 30th anniversary which I consider a treasure. I also inherited my MIL's pearls which I haven't worn yet. I need to take them to a jeweler so the pearls can be restrung. They are more 60 years old. I'm so thankful to have them and will treasure them always. Have a good weekend and thanks for sharing your responses!

    1. I would love to go back home and photograph the fall scenery especially there. Out west would be an adventure, too.
I bet your pearls are absolutely beautiful, both those from your husband and from your MIL. How sweet of her to leave them to you. :)
I hope that you have a blessed weekend, too. :)

    1. Thank you, Ellen, on all counts. The cameo is one of my favorites, too, along with the turquoise ring from my granny. Ordinarily, I don't like turquoise anything, but I love that ring.

If I ever get to go anywhere beautiful to photograph, I will definitely be posting the pictures on one of my blogs. :)

Thanks. I hope that you have a blessed weekend, too. :)

  4. I love your jewelry collection!
Funny thing, every post on this blog hop I read so far says the same thing - no one has a landline anymore. Why bother?

    1. Thank you, Claudia. :) I had fun photographing it, too, and remembering the stories of how I got them.

I ran across a couple that still have landlines, but not many, that's for sure.

      Have a blessed weekend. :)

  7. You have some very nice keepsakes, memories and all. Suzanne, there are some really amazing places down there for pictures. Have you been to Galveston? Texas City Dike? Sargent, with Caney Creek and its canals? Palacios and the beautiful Spanish moss? You could capture these beautifully! I hope you do!

    1. Thanks, Annie. :)

I've never been to Galveston. We started to go once, but got to this really scary bridge and didn't go any further. However, that was before Heavenly Father removed my terror over bridges. Maybe we'll try again some day. I can't remember if we've been to Texas City or not, but I know we haven't been to the dike. We have been to Sargent several times, but not to their end of Caney Creek or the canals. Caney Creek also runs here through this town.

We've been to Palacios quite a few times. Where is the Spanish moss? Is it in a park there somewhere? Please tell me where to find it. I would love to try to find the areas in these towns that you speak of.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing with me.

      Have a blessed day!
