Friendly Fill-Ins

This is a fun meme co-hosted by McGuffy's Reader and 15 and Meowing. Be sure to visit and join in the fun!

Here are the fill-ins:

1. My favorite herb or spice is ______________________.

2. An herb or spice I dislike is _____________________.

3. Lately, I have been working on ____________________.

4. This Winter was ___________________________________.

Here are my responses:

I would have to say that garlic is one of my favorite herbs/spices. I put it on/in just about everything.

I cannot think of an herb or spice that I do not like. There is probably one out there, but I’m not too adventurous with experimenting with those that I’ve never had due to multiple allergies, so I will probably never know what that disliked one is.

I have been working on reading books that I am supposed to review as well as decluttering the house and working on a Grandmother’s Flower Garden afghan to give to a friend.

This winter…We had winter? Oh yeah, those three days back in January. It was a little cold those days and snowed for about half a second. Other than that, it is just a season marked on the calendar, not in weather, around here.

  1. Simple little meme! I honestly don't have a favorite spice. It all depends what I am seasoning. And like you, I have never met a spice I didn't like, in the right portion. Lately I have been working on my blog, getting ready for the A to Z Challenge AND job hunting. This winter was mild, and that suits me just fine.

    1. This meme is one of my favorites. The hostesses are very sweet ladies.

I had planned on participating in the A to Z Challenge again this year, but at the moment, I am not sure. I don't know what to do for a theme and just feel very lost this year. We'll see how it goes. What is your theme?

I'm glad that it was mild, but sure wish that we could have had a good round of snow. Maybe some day. :)

I'll go and visit your blog and see what you've been up to lately. Thanks for stopping by here. Have a great weekend!

  2. I don't think we had a winter. I have the oil heated up to fry the ground hog.

    1. Well, you will have to cook it. I'm no good at cooking sausage. :-P
      Love you. :)

Hope you have a nice weekend!

    1. It is fun to watch things get less cluttered. It would be more fun if it could stay that way. :)

  4. Garlic is definitely a favorite in our house - the more, the better (according to the hubby). Usually I'll double the required amount in any recipe which makes both of us happy (though he still slathers anything and everything with his hottest hot sauces...heh!)

Oooh! I hope you share pictures of the Grandmother's Flower Garden afghan! Sounds really cool! Or warm, you know, because it's an afghan... ;)

    Have a great weekend!

    1. We pretty much feel like there's no such thing as too much garlic. Well, at least until we tried one of Emeril's garlic sauces. That was a bit much. He "bammed" that one pretty good! One of our daughters puts hot sauce on just about everything, too. Garlic is a good blood pressure regulator, so I bet you and your hubby have excellent blood pressure. :)

Funny. Cool and warm describes it quite well. :) I will post pictures of the afghan when I finish it, which will be quite some time from now. I made one several years ago and thought I had it in my Instagram feed, but can't seem to find it there to show you.

  5. I like garlic, too. I don't have food allergies; mine tend to be everything growing around me! I am worried about a hot Summer. I pray it isn't, though. I am glad you are back! Hugs.

    1. I've got the environmental allergies, too. I'm forever sneezing these days. I'm glad that you don't have food allergies. It makes eating a roulette game each time, especially if I don't know what is in the food I am eating.

All of our summers are hot ones. I hope that it won't be too hot for you where you live. Maybe it will be very mild.

Thanks! I'm glad to be back!

  6. Oh, I love garlic too! Your Grandmother’s Flower Garden afghan sounds interesting. I would love to see it. I love to declutter. Somehow it gives me a sense of accomplishment having less things. Have a happy weekend!

    1. Thanks. :) I will post pictures once I'm further along in the attaching (and weaving in) process. I think weaving in ends is going to take way longer than making the entire afghan itself. There are a zillion ends to deal with!
Decluttering can be lots of fun, I agree. :)
What is your favorite thing in which to use garlic?

      Have a blessed weekend!

  7. Decluttering is definitely something I need to get serious about. And winters just aren't what they used to be anymore...

    1. I agree. It is like every season is being warm or hot, most of the time, with no real coldness anymore. I sure miss the winters of my childhood in South Carolina.

Have fun with your decluttering. :)

      Have a blessed weekend!
