O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good;
for his mercy endureth for ever.
1 Chronicles 16:34
At
times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another
person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who
have lighted the flame within us.
-- Albert Schweitzer
What are you thankful for today?
Today marks the 4th anniversary of the amputation of David's right big toe. I am thankful that we have made it this far with no further amputations. Most of all, I am thankful that he is still here with me. He was on death's door when he was admitted to surgery that night.

That must have been an awful ordeal.
ReplyDeleteIt was. It was very scary. The whole week leading up to it was very distressing. He slept for several days straight, smelling more and more like a corpse. His toe was septic and necrotic...basically dead. It was very icky. Once we were able to get his doctor to see him, he sent him straight to the ER and they called a podiatrist from there. He went into surgery and came out just in time for the clock to strike 12 for our anniversary. We were able to bring it in together. He was a bit out of it and missing his toe, but the rest of us were together. I was very happy for that.
DeleteThanks for stopping by and commenting. Have a blessed night, Ellen. :)
