Friendly Fill-Ins – 21 October 2016

This is a fun meme co-hosted by McGuffy’s Reader and 15 and Meowing. Be sure to visit and join in the fun!

Here are the fill-in-the-blanks:
  1. One Halloween, I dressed as ____________________________.
  2. My favorite comedian is ________________________________.
  3. My scariest Halloween was _____________________________.
  4. ______________ is my favourite Halloween treat.

Here are my answers:

I remember dressing up for Halloween as a child, but I do not remember what I dressed as. All I remember is that I hated how those masks felt on my face. Since I can't offer you my own costume, how about some cuteness instead?

Our Firstborn "Pumpkin", 1986

I don't know that I have a favorite name-brand comedian, but there are some folks that I think have said some really funny things. Lou Holtz is one of them. Zig Ziglar is another one.  Justin Wilson, the Cajun cook, was a very funny man.  Oh yeah! Jerry Clower is a comedian and he is very funny.

I would have to say this one at the moment.  I don't know why, but I am especially creeped out this October.  I keep having visions of a sickle man coming to get me or being at the door when I open it.  This fear has not at all been helped by the fact that they just found a body in the woods here in the city limits where we live.  They apparently are not telling folks exactly where the remains were discovered, just in the woods here in the city. There are woods in sight of our house.  This has me thinking that maybe my fear of the Sickle Man isn't irrational afterall.

Reese's Cups, Hershey's Kisses, Payday…I love all of those.  I also love the Hershey's Miniatures, all of them, but most especially the dark chocolate variety.  I am apparently an oddity because I also like candy corn.  I just read over David's post. I had forgotten all about Ghosts in the Graveyard and Gremlin Guts....I love, love those!

    1. Thank you. :) David's mother made the pumpkin costume for him. She was really good at sewing things that I wouldn't have been brave enough to try at the time.

Yes, that body business has me a bit worked up. I still don't know which woods they found him/her in. No details other than that a body was found in the woods in town, and by a child. That poor kid!

I haven't had a Reese's in awhile, but hope to remedy that soon. :)

  2. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins. I love the baby photo, too cute. That does sound like a scary Halloween. I prefer milk chocolate, just knowing dark chocolate is good for you seems to ruin it for me :) Have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you to you and Annie for hosting the fill-ins. I enjoy these questions each week.
Thank you. That boy was a little rascal. :) He was like a baby Bamm-Bamm from the Flinstrones, very strong (physically and willed!) and could climb like a monkey, too!

I like both milk and dark chocolate. It is the dark chocolate with a higher percentage of cacao that is good for us, as I understand it. We got some to try, Ghirardelli Intense Dark, 86% Cacao. Not at all the taste that I was expecting. It about turned my mouth inside out. Think chocolate with no sugar (even though it has some sugar). The Hershey's dark chocolate, loaded with sugar tastes much better, even if it isn't good for us. :)

  3. What a cute pumpkin! Your answer to #3 is chilling. I can imagine how that entire situation would be so eerie. And it sounds like we have very similar taste in candy. I love Reese's, Pay Days, anything and everything dark chocolate, and, yes, candy corn! Have a beautiful weekend!

    1. Thank you. That boy was loaded with cuteness and rascaly-ness. :)

Yes, it is very eerie and downright terrifying. If I had the money to do so, I'd leave this house and town right now and head for the hills back home!

I think that it is neat that we like the same kinds of candy. From what I've gathered, candy corn is not liked by a lot of the folks out there. More for us! haha

    1. Thank you. :) You wouldn't believe the things he got himself into as a toddler. He zipped himself into a playpen storage bag. We could hear him crying, but couldn't find him...we couldn't see him. Then, I saw the bag moving and the rascal was inside it. He kept us on our toes, that's for sure!

    1. They are great. I love them on their own, with almonds, with peanut butter. Any way I can have them, I love them. :)

  7. Oh, good grief! That Grim Reaper image is more than unnerving! I do think it may have something to do with the dead body, though. Oh, yikes. Praying for angels to keep you safe in your dreams, too!

    1. It is a pretty creepy image, that's for sure! This fear of the sickle man started before they discovered the body, for a few weeks now. I almost wonder if it was a warning of some sort. It will be interesting if they ever release the cause of death for this person, especially if they died because of a sharp object.

Thank you for the angel prayers! It would be great if the angel Michael would go ahead and take care of whatever is lurking causing these fears.
