This week's fill-in-the-blanks:

1. I am most proud of _____________________________.
2. I am embarrassed to admit __________________________________________.
3. My super-power might be _______________________________.
4. I really wish I could _______________________.

My responses:

1. I am most proud of David and our children. They are not generally afraid to go for whatever they want.

2. I am embarrassed to admit my weight, so I won't.

3. My super-power might be irritating people. I have always been very good at it. Some things never change.

4. I really wish that I could let go of certain insecurities. However, every time I try, something happens to show me that they are well-founded. When this happens, they dig in even deeper.

Have a blessed week, y'all!

  2. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I doubt you irritate people. I am embarrassed about my weight too, I won't even let them tell me at the doctor's office. Have a great weekend.

    1. Thank you, Ellen. I understand that. I don't want to hear it when they tell me, either. Years ago, the physician's assistant labeled me as "grotesquely obese". That was quite a few pounds ago. I've lost 50 pounds since then, but gained about 10 pounds of it back. I'm still bigger than is healthy for me. But, it is hard to maintain a good weight when there is nowhere to put it. I'm only about 4'10" tall.

I see things a lot differently than a lot of people and, so, I end up irritating people very much. It is one reason that I do my best to just avoid in-person interaction. Online, I have a delete key if I need it. People often do not understand my extreme shyness and introversion and it irritates them that I won't do this or that because of it. Plus, I can be stubborn. I admit that. :)

Thank you for your kind comment. Have a blessed weekend. :)

  4. Suzanne, insecurities are hard to let go of. Why that is, I'll never know! I'm proud of my DH and children, too. :) Have a good weekend, my friend!

  6. Do you irritate people by having a positive attitude when they want to be grouchy? That works around here! Have a blessed and beautiful weekend!

    1. "Kill'em with kindness" can be fun. :)

I often end up on the other side. Usually, I irritate them by being cranky at their positive attitude after they've done something, sometimes intentionally, to make me cranky. I have yet to master the art of a positive or pleasant attitude with people that are purposefully hurtful and then turn around and act like there shouldn't be a problem.

Oh well. That's one part of my human nature that I'm trying to overcome, but there are some days too many tests to possibly pass it. Some days, I'm singing a whole lot of "Jesus Love Me". :)

I hope that you have a blessed and beautiful weekend, too. Thanks!

  7. I had a friend who was very irritating and she drove me crazy, but I liked her anyway.

    1. I've had a few of those myself. Some folks you can't help but love, even if they make you need a huggy jacket. Have a blessed weekend!

  8. I could very easily relate to all of these, especially the last one. Just when I think I am doing a lot better than I used to about how I handle things and relationships, I find that someone gives me a very uncomfortable reality check. It makes me doubt again. But we have to keep trying, and believe in ourselves a little bit more, rather than how people judge us, sometimes they don't really see the real us as we are inside! I doubt you are all that irritating, or at least not any more than I can be at times! :-)

    1. I think that we all have our moments. :)

So, how do we get to a point of believing in ourselves more when it seems more natural to believe the negative things people say to or about us?

Thank you for the encouragement. Have a blessed day!

  9. Suzanne, I always love your genuine answers and easy way of delivering them. #1 made me smile and #3 made me laugh. #2 made me nod; I relate. #4 made me sad, because again, I can relate. I would love to sit down and chat with you someday. I feel a kinship.

    1. Thank you, Annie. I feel a kinship to you, too. We seem to have the same feeling about a lot of things. AND your name is one of my favorite names. :)

I am sorry that #4 made you sad and that you deal with insecurities, too. Do you ever feel like, "Enough already!" when it comes to these feelings?

I enjoy being a part of Friendly Fill-Ins. I look forward to it each week. :)

      Have a blessed day!
