Important Notice!!! We are currently dealing with a serious health crisis involving David. Computer time and blogging will be taking a backseat until we can get this situation under control and, hopefully, save his leg. Please bear with us as we go through this difficult time. Thank you for any prayers that you can offer up.

Also, if you'd love to help cheer him up, please subscribe to his YouTube channel. That would really make his day! The link is at the bottom of all of my posts.

Thank you and Merry Christmas to all of you!

Z is for Żegnaj

http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com/

" Żegnaj" is the Polish word for "good-bye". We're at the end of this challenge and it has been great!

I have looked everywhere for a clear recording of "the perfect quartet" singing Goodbye, World, Goodbye. I have not been able to find one. However, I did find this later version of The Statesmen Quartet. I believe that it is Hovie Lister on the piano as he was one of the very last remaining Statesmen. I can very clearly hear Jake Hess as lead. I do not know who the others are in this version.

Goodbye, World, Goodbye

Now, as I type this in April 2016, all of the greats of the perfect quartet are singing around that Heavenly piano, all together again.

Denver Crumpler 1912-1957
Jim "Big Chief" Wetherington 1922-1973
Doy Ott 1919-1986
Hovie Lister 1926-2001
Jake Hess 1927-2004

"The Perfect Quartet"
The Statesmen Quartet sing "May the Good Lord Bless You"

Rest in peace, guys! I can't wait to hear you in person!

    1. Thank you, Wendy! The post itself was last minute, though I've had the "Goodbye, World, Goodbye" song chosen for quite some time. When David found the "May the Good Lord Bless You" video, he knew that it would be absolutely perfect for finishing this off as it has our preferred grouping of The Statesmen Quartet. :)

I enjoyed visiting your blog throughout the challenge. Thank you for stopping by and commenting. Have a blessed day!

  3. Suzanne, now that's a new word on me, but oh how clever you are, girl! Great way to wrap up another year of A2Z fun! The Statesmen Quartet sounded joyful singing these old hymns. Anyone can tell that they loved the Lord listening to them. Thanks for sharing another fabulous song choice and congrats on crossing the finish line!

    1. Thank you, Cathy. I was going nuts trying to think of a "z" word and found this one for "good-bye". I had to use it. I wasn't going to get a better chance at a "z" word as this was found at the very last minute. I knew my last post theme was "good-bye", but the "z" word was the glitch. haha

I agree. It is obvious that they loved singing for Heavenly Father and sharing his word. Some of them, especially Denver and then Rosie, they just glow with love for Him as they are singing. You know they are feeling it.

Congrats to you on finishing, too! It was a real challenge this time around, that's for sure. :)
