Questions

Have you ever gotten a pet from a rescue?

We haven't gotten any from a formal animal rescue organization. However, we have rescued animals and taken them in. When I was pregnant with our first child way back in the mid-1980s, a dog was hit by a car in front of our house and he became our "Bin".

Another time, my husband told the kids "If God wants you to have a cat, He'll send you a cat." Never challenge Heavenly Father, because that's exactly what He did...four of them: Charcoal, Mittens, Whiskers, and Glaze. :)

Now, every cat in our yard is technically a rescue cat. There's also a raccoon or two and a possum. They all seem to get along just fine out there.

What pumpkin goodies have you had this fall?

I don't think that I've had any pumpkin goodies yet this fall. I'll have to remedy that very soon! David just reminded me that we had pumpkin-shaped cookies. But, they were just sugar cookies shaped like pumpkins, not cookies made using real pumpkin.

What are the best and worst rooms in your home?

I don't think that this house has a best room. David and I agree: They are all the worst. The size of this house is perfect, though. Maybe even too big for the stage of life that we're headed for. With a little reworking of the layout, it could be just fine.  The kitchen is the most frustrating for me. It must have been built for a giant. It isn't at all shrimp-friendly.

If you could have a real "brick and mortar" type business, what would it be?

As far as brick-and-mortar stores, it doesn't matter. David says that we could sell ice cream to Eskimos if just given the opportunity. But if he were to have the financial opportunity to do so, he would build the "Take Back Store", a business intended to run out of business those that took the businesses away from his friends. Because of the dirty dealings around here, one of our friends committed suicide. These wounds are going to sting for a long time.

I think that it would be interesting to have a yarn store and/or a bookstore. One involving genealogy would be wonderful, too!

What's your favorite tropical fruit?

I don't know that we have any aside from bananas and pineapples. I have so many allergies that I'm afraid to try any of the interesting fruits that are available in this part of Texas. I tried kiwi several years ago and it tried to kill me, so I haven't tried any fruit that I didn't grow up with since then.

  1. This week's answers to these questions are in Patrice's comments. I just can't get my act together. *sigh* Anywho, I'm with you on not having any pumpkin goodies yet other than pumpkin spice latte. I'm looking forward to pumpkin pie later in the month, though. BTW, I have a new blog. I hope you'll decide to join me at Curious as a CAThy!

  2. A yarn store/ bookstore, with a desk are in the back to help people trace their roots. Would you call that the Knitted Root Reading Room? I'd have to visit that one! Wendell would too, but I can't convince him to wipe his hooves before entering people space. :)

    1. I think that sounds like an excellent idea for a yarn store/bookstore/genealogy business. Regarding Wendell's hooves, maybe we need to make a pony-friendly store where hoof-wiping isn't necessary. :)

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Have a great week!
