1. Do you prefer brain games or games of chance?
I love them both, but I am partial to puzzles, trivia, and word games.
2. How often do you misplace your keys?
Very rarely. I always keep them in my pocketbook when they are not in use. I am trying to be more consistent with where I put things. It reduces the whole "I can't find this or that" a great deal!
3. It's National Clown Week! If you were a professional clown what would your name be?
I would not, could not be a clown. However, if I were to be a clown, my name would have to be "Iscare Myself". I do not like clowns and never have. They give me the creeps. My children feel the same way about them.

4. What is the strangest conversation you had last week?
I can't think of any strange ones that I've had, but I overhear lots of strange ones. They are mostly between my husband and our youngest daughter. She comes up with things just to shock his shorts, things that I could never have discussed with my own daddy. We've raised our children with the idea that they can talk to us about anything and everything. This girl has taken it to heart and keeps us on our toes!
What was your favorite thing to do in the summertime when you were a child?
Swimming in the lake or playing scrabble with my grandmother at her cottage
ReplyDeleteI loved playing Scrabble with my grandma, too. I think it is a great game for grandparents and grandchildren to play together. :)

I used to love playing baseball all summer. We would be out for hours playing it.
ReplyDeleteMy siblings and I, along with the kids in our neighborhood, played baseball together, too. You just reminded me of a story that I need to write for my new Saturday Stories series.

Enjoyed your answers.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Denise. I hope that you have a blessed week!
DeleteMy favorite thing in the summer as a child was swimming. We had a cottage and stayed all summer long. Water skiing was a close second.
ReplyDeleteI think that it is cool that your family had a summer cottage. I've never been water skiing, but I think that it could be fun. Jet skiing looks totally fun to me.

My brother and I had summer-long passes to swim at the high school pool (that was our community pool) I always rode my bike there and swam a few hours and then went to arts and crafts before I went home. I also loved Vacation Bible School and the summer youth programs at the Baptist Church a block away from our house. My favorite thing to do in the summer was enjoy it being summer!
ReplyDeleteVacation Bible School is a fun childhood memory for me, too. I remember one of the first crafts that I made in Bible School. We painted ceramic bookends. Mine were a picket fence with dogs sitting in front of the fence. The last time that I was in my parents' home, my mama still had them on the bookshelf with my baby picture.

Number 3 made me laugh out loud. Not that being afraid of clowns is funny, but I immediately thought of Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham...I would not, could not.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing to do during the summer as a child was play school. I did not enjoy being out of school for summer break.
Dr. Seuss is exactly who was tripping through my mind when I wrote that line. haha
DeleteWere you the teacher when you played school? I was always the teacher when we played school at my house. I was the oldest, so I guess it just came with the territory. :)

I loved sleeping in, running through sprinklers, riding bikes with my cousin and climbing trees. True tomboy at heart!
ReplyDeleteClimbing trees can be lots of fun. What kind of bike did you have? I had a blue bike and spent many hours outside zipping through the woods on it. Lots of fun!

I loved going to Florida every year to visit my grandparents and hopefully that one year would be the year we were able to go to Disney - never happened though.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you never got to go to Disney with your grandparents. I've only been to Florida twice and neither time was for anything even approaching fun. Going 80 miles without a rest area made it even worse!
